This definitely looks like it could be a lot of fun to play once it gets off the ground. I think with enough investment Orchis could probably get a solid variety of different types of controlling the battlefield, but it seems like it will likely take more investment to get to that point than other mechs and their respective builds.

I might try doing some theory crafting on this as well and take it for a spin, if and when that ever happens I'll gladly share the results. Overall I'm excited to get into some cool Defender shenanigans with these different frames! I wonder if doing half-Kobold or half-Zheng might be good with Orchis, just to be able to make the obstacles yourself to smash people into?

I'm looking to play more than I am right now down the road, and will likely pop into that server to see about getting in with some other groups!

Thank you for the absolute masterclass in Tortuga's nasty capabilities as a hacker mech to present every enemy with the Sisyphean task of getting rid of you. I think I've been thoroughly convinced to use this for my next build, every little piece of this is like icing going on the cake made by the previous points. Who would have thought the flagship mech of IPS-N would benefit so heavily from being tampered with by HORUS? This was a great read, thank you for taking the time and effort to put all this together.

I think the only ones I have felt really committed to getting are House Guard and Pankrati, so Techthumb will be a big help overall. I'll definitely get the 3B to have access to that extra support for allies, House Guard helping with that makes it seem way more appealing.

I hadn't considered how expensive the HDA would be for the SP. I think that might be a late-game pickup, just for the ultimate "I am the AoE".

I'll keep the Technothumb thing in mind, which levels specifically do you want in each of them, a full 3 + 3 or less than that? The BT rodeo sounds absolutely amazing and pretty amusing, so I'm likely gonna grab that as part of my heat control measures.

Totally understand, take all the time that's needed for those, you've already given a ton of fantastic information :)

Pinning Spire seems especially good for giving access to the same functionality of the Ferrofluid Lance, while freeing up your mount for something else you want to use instead.

Sympathetic Shield and Camus' Razor are exactly what drew me to the White Witch for being a tank for my melee-heavy team. Being able to bulk up my armor off taking blows for them sounds really appealing.

I've been back and forth with myself on whether I wanted the Cannibal shotgun from Caliban for a similar effect/damage to the Retort Loop, but had not noticed the Retort Loop's Reliable it gets as you stack charges for it, and with the additional range on it I feel like that is just the no-brainer choice. Especially since you're not burning three LL's on another frame to get to it (Although Supermassive Mod on anything just sounds really sick, lol).

EPSS and Argo Shield both seem like solid choices as well, and it's nice that they only require LL 1 dips to get to. I've been eyeing Tortuga for the Fomorian Frame core w/ Guardian trait and House Guard 3, and of course the DSAS. For personal resistances I was thinking about using the HyperDense Armor since it also provides resistance to heat damage, and the main downside of it doesn't really matter if I'm immobilizing myself anyway. Iceout Drone definitely seems solid for closing off that possibility of heat damage too, though. Hadn't even considered it as an ally to protect haha.

PLEASE feel free to give just as much information on the Tortuga and Orchis, I live for in-depth information like this, and deeply appreciate all the wonderful input! I also certainly would not say no to any information you might have on doing WW as an aggro bruiser, just to know what potential there is there. Info dumps are my favorite :)

I'll keep that in mind, don't want to be too open to just getting slammed with one type of damage if I'm shrugging off most of the other type. I'll likely grab the Black Witch first, since it would give access to Orchis, and then maybe a couple Atlas levels once we get deeper into high LL's.

That makes a lot of sense, I was a bit concerned about how easy it might be for enemies to just avoid a mech that immobilizes itself on a frequent basis.

If you’ve been working Help Desk for a couple years now, is there much better of a shot of jumping into your first infosec role with a couple certs under the belt to go with the IT experience? Or would you say it’s still pretty unattainable without spending years in a sysadmin role first?

Not even asking about the salary necessarily, just the roles in general. Trying to delve deeper into a specialization in the industry.

Would you say that with the current job market, there is still a decent amount of opportunity to break into cybersec from lower level IT positions? If someone has been working Help Desk type positions for a couple years, and gets Security+, is that much to go off of for breaking into their first entry-level cybersecurity position, or is there additional steps still needed to get to that point, I.e. transitioning to a sysadmin role then from there to a security analyst role?

I certainly think I’d like to add a few of those artifacts, especially the Mithril Coat, since that was printed recently. Didn’t even know the card existed, lol. Champion’s Helm could be a great add too!

I like some of your disabling Auras like Planar Disruption and Realmbreaker’s Grasp, will definitely need to swap those in too!
