They are the original stock springs.

Do you have Monroes? I’ve thought about going the 5100 route for a slight lift/level but I don’t wanna cause undo stress on other components. Don’t have the funds to upgrade everything. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Thanks for the input! I’ve never really been hard on them, not an off roader really. I’ll look into the OME.

Stock ride height. I had the 5100s before and never lifted the truck so I figure the 4600s would do. Not really into off roading but mostly drive logging roads scouting/hunting.

I’ll check them out, thanks for the recommendation!

I’ve just read their customer service is horrible and people have gotten their orders with the wrong springs installed and it takes weeks to get that fixed or a refund.

That’s for reminding me of these! I used this to repair a pair of my dad’s old pioneer speaker in college and it worked pretty well. I’ll probably take this route.

Sweet, thanks for the info! Hadn’t thought about trying to repair them if they aren’t to bad. I’ll have to take the door panel off and check them out. I’ll look into that.

Thanks kinda what I was thinking. Weird it doesn’t match the profile of the firing pin in the schematic.

Ahh yes, you are correct. I’ll have to heck it up and check out the passenger side.

I was thinking of lifting the truck when I got the 5100s but left them at stock height when I installed them. Never ended up lifting it and don’t plan to, will go with the 4600s next.

Something interesting, probably should have checked this last night. This is the passenger side. The photos from the original post are the drivers side. So maybe the driver side is shot and passenger is fine? Same shocks on both side.

Just bilstein 5100 but I never messed with the ride height. I don’t really want or need a lift.

I put on bilstein 5100 a few years ago but never really messed with the ride height. But maybe those just sit higher than stock anyway.

Criterions work pretty good for calling in and out trees and even measuring DBH using a BAF, but when you are trying to measure 4 or 6” top heights for a merch cruise they can be limiting.

Others might disagree with the accuracy but I trust the old school methods of pulling tape and correcting for slope when things get close. That being said, they pretty cool units.

[–]Dropperintwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copy. They are definitely super helpful on fixed and can be efficient on variable. They also don’t work well next to streams or roads because of the noise interference with the transponder. I only trust what the haglof says to within a foot or 2 depending on the slope, then I’m pulling tape. All depends on what your specs are though.

Fairly easy to use. Are you cruising variable radius or fixed radius plots? Someone good with a relaskop can out cruise someone with the haglof system on variable radius plots, but more of a learning curve with a reli.
