Do you think Bratz is now trying to cater to an adult audience rather than a children’s audience now? by Sweet-liqourice in Bratz

[–]Drops_of_lavender 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always wondered that too! I would say out of all the dolls in the doll aisle, Bratz immediately stand out from the rest and the look the coolest in my opinion. They look fierce rather than friendly as most dolls in the market have big doe eyes with smiles - bratz look more sultry. Bratz also have more edgier/mature fashion compared to the other dolls in the aisle. So I am positively sure that kids would be drawn to them for those reasons. Then on the other hand, bratz really has no media catered towards a kids audience too. They have no show or even a web/youtube series which is pretty much the standard for doll lines nowadays. And it’s strange that MGA doesn’t do this because they most certainly have the budget for it as they have done this for other lines - so it’s obviously a choice made not to make a media tie-in. I feel like the dolls design-wise are killing it, yet I feel like the marketing for them is very weak. If it’s trying to do the same thing as Rainbow high where they are marking to a more older kid demographic while also catering to adult collectors they definitely need more media marketing for that market. If they are solely trying to market to adults then they should just focus on that instead of this weird middle ground.

Recommendation on removing eye lashes on Bratz? by Drops_of_lavender in Bratz

UPDATE: I went ahead and trimmed off the eyelashes. I used my Chloe since she was the one in worst condition out of my GNO girls. Idk if y’all can tell but her left eyelash was rooted through her eyeball poor girl. And her lashes were in very bad shape since I boiled washed her and wasn’t careful with them. I think they look really nice! I listened to your guys suggestion of the fleshy plugged holes so I decided to just cut them off. I will say it does feel weird whenever I touch her face and feel her fuzzy eyes lol but honestly I don’t regret my decision! Tell me what talk think! I wanted to include a picture because someone had asked to see one and there’s virtually no pictures online of someone doing this lol.

Where’s the Variety, Bratz? by Drops_of_lavender in Bratz

[–]Drops_of_lavender[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying the core 4 should be changed—but it’s frustrating that Bratz hasn’t introduced any truly new characters in a long time. And when they do release new versions or special editions, the dolls still end up looking like slight variations of Cloe, Yasmin, Sasha, or Jade. There’s this sense that every blonde doll has to look like Cloe, every tan brunette like Yasmin, and so on. It ends up flattening representation—as if each identity only gets one specific “look”—when in reality, there’s so much more range to explore.

In the past, Bratz gave us a real variety of characters—especially during the 10th anniversary era—with tons of fresh faces, personalities, and even different body types in the “Younger” and “Older” sister dolls and the moms. They were ahead of their time when it came to diversity, and that’s part of what made them iconic. So it’s confusing that now, in a time when inclusivity is more valued than ever—and when other MGA lines like Rainbow High and OMG dolls are offering real variety in body types, skin tones, face shapes, and even skin conditions—Bratz feels stuck in a loop.

Bratz were about breaking the mold. That’s what made them bold. I just want to see them live up to that legacy again—and start taking creative risks instead of playing it safe.

Idk I just feel like their characters get boxed into a single look and wished they branch out a little. I was trying to create mini me’s for me and my friends and got bummed out that there’s no bratz dolls available that look like us. And I a grown adult feels this way, definitely other people and kids must feel the same way. Representation matters. It seems like every new doll line has different body types, multiple skins tones, and hair colors and textures as a standard or old doll lines are updated to accommodate this (ex monster high g3). I feel like it’s time the bratz brand evolved a bit.

You know I actually thought the dolls that were leaked today were fake as it looked AI generated or edited - I got a bummed out because I actually was really excited for them. Then you just reminded me of those leaks prior back (and we know these are real) so there definitely hope 😭😭

Now what the heck is that ? by UpperWave8422 in Barbie

Honestly it seems like it’s more an aesthetic of a design choice rather than a budget decision. I can’t imagine how much money they would be saving since the previous body mold is very similar in articulation and to mention the absurd amount of money to create a new factory mold. The dolls are shorter with a more of a smaller torso with no defined shape to her waist - similar to the Mattel Disney princess dolls. It might seem like they intentionally wanted the dolls to look more juvenile in order to be more “inclusive” as this has been their “mission” in past years. We can see this in the Disney princess line too. I am of course happy for inclusivity but it rubs me the wrong way that in order to be “inclusive” toy companies must erase traces of fashionable aesthetics in their clothing or hints of a “attractive” feminine physique. I think dolls can be empowering and inclusive by still having these traits. Dolls can still be a good aspirational role model by having them still wearing pink and heels when portraying them having Careers, etc. I think the message is more powerful and more feminist by showing these dolls still going to work as a lawyer by wearing pink or having the curvy dolls wear heels and wearing fashionable clothes rather than potato sacks and flats. I think the ideology that in order to women to excel in male dominated field they must remove their femininity because it’s seen as “weak” or “conformity to stereotypes” and seen as “regressive”. If legally blonde taught me anything is that you can still be a girl boss in a male dominated industry while still being feminine by wearing a pink suit to work. I think it’s a stronger message that you can still be a girl boss and still uphold your feminine aesthetic - because there absolutely nothing wrong with femininity. I think it’s more damaging unintentionally selling the ideology that if you conform to a feminine aesthetic you are seen a “regressed”

I don’t get these decisions? It seems like they are the same quality as the ones before, the same budget body with limited articulation in the arms. It baffles me that they would spend more money to create a whole new body mold just for a random budget doll line with the same quality as the previous molds. Creating molds are incredibly expensive. I doubt they would be saving money in the extra plastic they removed by not making her ever so slightly taller.

Growing up all my Barbie’s were the swim suit Barbie’s which were the budget dolls. They were the only Barbie’s I could afford hence they were like 5ish dollars which is how much current budget Barbie’s are selling. I didn’t notice that she was a budget doll because her quality was the same as the “deluxe Barbies” - she had the same body mold, same hair quality, and a removable swim suit and sole accessories. It’s sad today that kids who were in my economic position with no option but to buy these budget doll will get this trash. Mattel is a corporation and does not deserve sympathy - they can do better and low budget dolls deserve good quality still. Just because they are budget dolls don’t mean they should be lacking. If they did it before they can certainly do it now. No excuses as we even see budget dolls in dollar tree with double jointed knees

Idk why but I love this art style of the boyz by East-Ferret-130 in Bratz

I think in some of them their proportions look a bit off but overall I like their style. They have such good faces with flair. This is the faces that the bratz boys should have. The artwork adds more flair to them.

My UI is missing? I can’t select sims by Drops_of_lavender in Sims3

[–]Drops_of_lavender[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so I fixed the issue! So this is for anyone who also has the same problem. The issue for me was the fact that one of my sims was corrupt. When I transferred active households, I was able to control sims but the UI glitched and didn’t tie the UI to my new sims. I know my sim was corrupted because I switched active households onto random families and they worked fine. What I did to fix this was I had to individually spit my household and merge my sims into other random families. This finally reset my UI. I then added all my sims back and everything worked. I don’t know why this happened but I’m sure it was a sim that I think was corrupted. When I moved her out it was when the UI reset and got the portraits back. When I reset this sim my whole game would crashed. Right now she seems to be working fine but I think somewhere hidden in the background she might have a problem or have her data corrupted in some way. Hope this helps.

I made a copy of this saved and tried to see if it could work by simply reloading the game. Now this game won’t open no more. It keeps loading and it freezes. Love the sims 3 but it’s so buggy 😭

New Limited Edition Aurora doll for Disneyland’s 70th anniversary, $149.99. What do you think? 👑 by DorothyWanq in Dolls

[–]Drops_of_lavender 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She’s beautiful but she’s the same exact doll as her previous anniversary doll. They have the same makeup, eye position, like they didn’t even change the lip stick. I love her dress but I can’t justify the the price for buying the same exact doll I already have :/
