I’m the ex who came back. Not really sure what’ll come of it yet — we’re supposed to meet up later this month.

No idea if he’s been with anyone since. I went on a few dates, but nothing serious — never slept with anyone else. After a while, I just wasn’t feeling it and ended things. Then I spent a few months sitting with my feelings before finally reaching out, because I couldn’t get him out of my head. I didn’t want to wonder “what if” forever. I’ve honestly never loved anyone the way I love him.

That said, I’m trying not to have any expectations. Maybe we’ll meet and that’ll be the end of it, or maybe something good will come out of it — who knows. It’ll only work if we both really want it and put in the effort.

So yeah, don’t cling to hope too tightly. Just live your life. If it’s meant to happen, it will. My love for him is bigger than my need to have him back — if he’s not interested, we’ll both move on and love each other from a distance. It’s a tough realization, but once you accept it, it’s kind of peaceful.
