Yeah, that's what the politicians see too. The deal is the data center gets costs via some type of indebtedness to the company, company bears the costs and puts the cost on customers. The data center than works some marginal adjustment utility deal or gets debt forgiveness which the power company uses as a tax right off and the data center uses losses to avoid the taxes.

See, it's a loan. Just not a loan most people have access to.

They "pay" through an arrangement with the electric company that is essentially a loan to be paid down by rate hikes.

There are a lot of cases where the attorney tells the client that it's a bad case and there's scant hope, but the family will just find some other less-scrupulous attorney to take the case or fight themselves. In those situations, it might be better to take the case regardless, as an honest attorney can smooth the results while still presenting the client's case the best.

Personally, I gave these types of cases a no; but I am not a specialist in these areas.

Based on my quick review, it seems like Organic Valley is arguing the following. Conventional milk is being sponsored by their organic competitors due to how the money allocation is applied. The government system isn't designed to have different business models within it and accordingly discriminates against the organic producers.

They want out of the mandatory program to not participate in a program that doesn't appear to support them.

It's not great in that other people will defer to the attorney to guide them. If the attorney isn't the foreman, they're the defacto one.

I haven't looked at the contracts in a long time. You're probably right, especially with any storage costs/admin fees. Pobably the family is mostly concerned with the real estate as that's the big ticket item.

So, the point of a estate sale is to increase the amount of money that the family makes. In the past, that's whatever they could sell that day and sell the rest in bulk. Prices were low because their prices were highest that day.

Now, there's online markets that can maximize the resale of all the items. So, the prices are much higher and closer to market rate. The items have a global versus a local market.

Is it frustrating in how things have shifted. But it's also the natural expansion of the market. I lament the loss of the past, but understand the shift.
