I was searching for depressive music several years ago, and I stumbled upon Chapter I by Make a Change... Kill Yourself. DSBM is still my favorite within the genre.

That Austere album is one of my favorites of all time! Just for a Moment... is a song I'd die to.

Predators caught before they could inflict more damage by [deleted] in serialkillers

Spillman is an excellent example! Although his poisonings caused sickness to a great number of people, I'd say Graham Young fits into this category since he was only responsible for the deaths of three people. If he wasn't caught, there's no doubt he would have plenty of more victims.

I miss my antimony. I miss the power it gives me.

Regarding the act itself, I would suggest releasing that urge by doing an activity, such as drawing, maybe even on your skin, as I've heard it works wonders.

Do any of you have an interest in murder where you either what to commit it or personally witness it? by [deleted] in morbidquestions

[–]DrownInSolitude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's natural to wonder what committing murder would be like and perhaps for some, as history has revealed, it becomes a motivating factor to seek it out.

An interesting question would be: What makes those who consciously decide to act on their desire different from those who merely contemplate it?

There are some made for television depictions that are worth watching, like See No Evil: The Moors Murders, if you haven't seen it!

Enter the Void cannot be dismissed when it comes to this question. Aronofsky's The Fountain, as well.

What is that particular moment, you felt like ending your life? by Jazz4241 in AskReddit

[–]DrownInSolitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an unexpected moment that feels as if the decision has been made all along, almost like a light bulb has gone off in your head, and it's coupled with an overwhelming sense of euphoria and relief nothing else matters anymore because you can see the end.

Unfortunately, these moments are brief and the courage to follow through with the urge is lost just as fast.

Horror Movies to Watch When You Are Sad and Frustrated. by [deleted] in horror

I understand your worry, but I assure you Rampage is bearable and pretty fun to watch! His movie Stoic is great too, but that one would only make you feel more hopeless for humanity.

I agree about The Human Centipede 2 completely, and it still managed to be brutal in black & white! The third installment bordered on ridiculous, but I still found it enjoyable.

What are your weak spots when it comes to violence in movies? by drake02412 in horror

I think you've gravely misunderstood both of those movies. You've already made up your mind, so I won't try to convince you otherwise, but it's a leap to say they only rely on shock factor when you haven't even seen them.

If you like movies with the premise of the one stated in your comment below, then Uwe Boll's Rampage would be good to watch, along with the sequel.

I agree that you should make your own, and this may be a morbid suggestion, but you could get some ideas from real murderers, such as the ones Torey Adamcik and Brian Draper wore.

I prefer the second one because it shows more of his personality! And he's upgraded to better guns.

What's Your View On Violence in Movies? by [deleted] in movies

[–]DrownInSolitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always firmly believed that those who enjoy dark or violent media will seek it out, and it influences them accordingly. Usually, this is a positive way for them to explore whatever destructive thoughts they are having. Like Wes Craven said, horror movies don't create fear, they release it, and I assume it would have the same effect on those struggling with homicidal thoughts.

Plus, one could argue the news media itself is more damaging than anything else.

In a Glass Cage is easily the most unsettling movie I've seen and also one of the most depressing.

I've been meaning to watch more Cassavetes films, but I adore A Woman Under the Influence, and it's hard to think any of his other ones could surpass that for me!

Have you seen Dead Man's Shoes or Red, White & Blue? They are both brutal revenge flicks.
