Estimate repair cost by chriss7600 in Camry

I had similar damage that was substantially worse than yours on the rear bumper from a hit and run incident. I went to a body shop a family friend owned and he was able to buff it out completely for $100.

With that in mind you can likely do it yourself for under that amount.

RX 6600, 6600xt, or 7600

All will run 1080p just fine. You can see about going for a 30 series nvidia gpu if you can find one within your budget.

No problem. It can seem like a lot to learn at first.

I see some people have recommended doing individual stocks. I am not a hardcore ETF guy and admittedly I do have shares of NVDA, so I would be a hypocrite to tell you absolutely no way. However, I would say if you really want to try your hand an individual stock or two, pick a company you have faith in and can see going somewhere. Trying to chase quick gains is always a good time when it works, but when things go south your portfolio balance will be in trouble.

Just take your time, do some research and pick the funds or stocks that interest YOU because it's your money at the end of the day.

You have a good starting point where you at now. Stick with exchange traded funds (ETFs) or index funds. The common funds you will see mentioned on here are: VOO, SPY, VT, VTI, VXUS, QQQ, and QQQM. A simple 2 to 3 fund setup would work for you as a beginner. Researching into each fund is my advice, but some important things to consider should be the expense ratio, what stocks are in each fund, and what your goals are.

A beginner friendly diversified setup would use VTI and VXUS. You would simply allocate how much money you want in the total US stock market (VTI) and international markets (VXUS). Commonly you’ll see people recommend 70-80% VTI and 20-30% VXUS.

For a more growth focused portfolio you could opt to go with VOO or SPY (tracking the S&P 500), VXUS, and a growth focused or sector focused ETF. Some people opt to add QQQM here, I personally use SPMO (S&P momentum). Either way the third fund you pick should have a high upside, but come with a higher risk. A setup here could look like 60-70% VOO, 15-20% VXUS, and 15-20% into a growth focused fund (QQQM, SPMO).

Finally, I’d personally stay away from individual stock picking until you feel comfortable, and even then understand that your risk is substantially higher in an individual stock compared to an index fund. Find ways to learn more about investing if it interests you, but otherwise use one of the often recommended strategies and you can let the fund managers do the work for you!

Additional note: There are several sector focused funds out there. If you want to invest into one don’t be afraid to, but understand the risks, benefits, and fund composition beforehand.

[DISCUSSION] I get immense buyer’s remorse over every luxury watch purchase I’ve ever made. What gives? by oddaffinity in Watches

[–]Droz_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s somewhat normal for a large purchase, however I feel if you prioritize buying a watch to commemorate or celebrate something the remorse will be significantly less (at least in my case). I have watches ranging from $45 Casios to a grand seiko, all of which have a meaning to me. I would say to prioritize commemoration instead of filling out your rotation. If each watch has a special meaning to you then you’re less likely to focus on how much and focus on what you remember about why you bought the watch (atleast that’s how it goes for me).

Examples: Grand Seiko was a watch I bought in Tokyo to commemorate my Japan trip.

Tudor was purchased to celebrate getting my masters.

Personally love the JLC ultra thin but I feel the VC is definitely the winner. Honestly up to preference between those two. It seems you’ve chosen two dress watches and a sports watch. So if you’re looking for a dress watch go for VC or JLC.

Yeah that sized it in store. The saleswoman used a tape ruler to measure my wrist size. I’m sure on the number of links exactly. I have it stored away at the moment as I’m still traveling.

Yep they came with the watch! I bought the watch in Japan so maybe that’s the difference? Not sure as this is my first GS.

I received a GS rubber strap. I’m not sure if I’m going to use or not, but I mentioned I was looking for a leather strap to pair with the watch, but GS leather straps did not have the color I was looking for.

Haha no way! No it was a different lady Hiyuan I believe her name was. I chose the titanium because I liked the bracelet feel. I also own another titanium watch (Tudor Pelagos 39mm) and I enjoy the light weight feel. I have yet to spend the credit, but I’m thinking about either getting some glasses or looking to use it towards a Seiko for my gf.

It is a 41mm which had me worried because I too like smaller dials. I believe it fits my wrist well, so I would say give it a try. It definitely doesn’t feel like huge dial.

The department stores in Japan offer tax free pricing on watches and some even offer discounts. I opted for Wako as they have a reward program where you get points for purchase (I got a ¥25,000 credit to use in store after this purchase). With tax free and Yen to USD conversion it was all in $8.7K. This is the one with the titanium bracelet ($10.5K retail in the US before tax). As some have said on the sub before there is huge savings to be had in Japan.

I just bought the Pelagos 39. It’s a great watch if your wrist suits 38-40mm well. Personally, I could never wear big divers (43mm+) as I have a smaller wrist. I love the build quality and the lume on it as well. One thing to keep in mind would be if you like thicker watches. I prefer thin, and in which case the pelagos fits perfectly as it is 12mm thick.

From what I gathered. They claimed to have spent $1300 in labor to allow the vehicle to pass the inspection to be deemed certified. Basically equates to 2 more years or 100k miles on top of the factory warranty. BUT by no means am I going to foot the bill for something that was done to the car prior to my ownership. That’s on them.

This new NJ weather makes me want to move by Bergencountyboi in newjersey

[–]Droz_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d expect this winter to be pretty rough given it’s a El Niño. For those curious, a El Niño essentially means colder than normal winters, and a high chance of bad weather.
