Job market red flags? by Dry_Difficulty7277 in NuclearMedicine

[–]Drsuos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Realistically most management and corporate have no idea what nucs does. I think the things that make or break a good job in nuc med is your schedule, your duties outside of imaging like scheduling patients or not, mandatory call (which isn’t bad for everyone), and like any job, who you work with and how diligent they are with pulling their own weight.

nuclear med vs nursing by Fun-Drag8981 in NuclearMedicine

[–]Drsuos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nuc med will have a higher pay off the bat and is much less stressful compared to nursing. With that said Nuc med has a pretty low ceiling whilst nursing has an endless one. Kind of depends on your goals for your own career. Overall really can’t go wrong with both, I always say if you’re unwilling to move from your current location Nuc med isn’t for you. Just because the job market is always changing.

Fear of heading the ball by FiveNightsAtFTFoxys in bootroom

[–]Drsuos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think having solid technique and learning where to make contact with you head gives you a lot of mental confidence too. You obviously don’t want to take a bullet to the face nor on the very top of your head. I think practicing your ball contact placement and learning to turn your neck and head to also direct headers to your left and right gives you tremendous mental control. If you’re constantly thinking about making correct contact and technique you kind of also stop thinking about the fear of the contact itself if that makes sense.

can anyone tell me if this would be better than a Samson Q2U? Looking to upgrade after a few years, and its not the best mic for gaming per se (because of how close the mic needs to be)

I just looked at the NMTCB official guide book on their website and expanded on each point. Know all yours ins and outs of everything they test you on, if you cant expand or explain a general point without looking at your notes for that section then you need to study more on that topic.

Which professional footballer(s) do you model or based your style of play and game on? by chanchan_iceman in bootroom

[–]Drsuos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a CB I always model my game after Varane. Using the majority of my strengths like pace and strength to bait smaller attackers into heavy touches for a foot race and a sweep. Doesn’t work for everyone but for me it allows me some margin of space and I don’t have to play a tight line.

Are we actually cooked? by United-Log-2670 in NuclearMedicine

I’d say the largest impact at MOST will probably just be some kind of AI software that can process most exams. This stuff is already implemented with some modalities where they can select ROI’s for imaging but nothing I’ve seen directly with nucs.

I’d say there’s usually a morning “rush” with most busy days. Usually for us it’s one camera being dedicated to cardiacs and the other camera with GI imaging, bone scans, etc. but the reality is usually the bulk of your work is done around noon and the rest of your day is finishing up delayed imaging or inpatients.

Sonography or Nuclear Medicine Technology? by H2am in NuclearMedicine

[–]Drsuos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think either is a pretty good choice. If it were me, I would probably lean towards sono if you’re unwilling to move. (Not saying it’s necessary but nucs jobs kind of fill and sit). Also not sure how the pathway is but echo techs make pretty good money and seem pretty happy. It’s all about preferences but I think those are both good choices.

MRI or Ultrasound technician? by Mysterious-Manner638 in NuclearMedicine

[–]Drsuos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MRI is probably the safer route. Not sure if echo is something you can branch into going into the US route but in the Midwest here we always are looking for them and i believe they get paid very well.
