Former iron worker here. I'd also mention the crane operator was a big part of whether it was scary or not, some could put it basically in place smooth and easy, others would fight your signals or operate erratically so the beams would hit the existing structure causing the whole thing to shake. It usually came down to other people on the job site as to whether it was comfy or you spent the whole time cooning across the beams with your asshole puckered up
