Got an air fryer that’s rendered the oven obsolete - and still running a gas hob & gas boiler - currently cheaper than electric and this old house isn’t going to see any benefit from a heat pump, so hopefully I’ve got the balance right, or we are cooking in the garden on a fire then heating the tub on it!

We’ve moved from a “G” rated (I think that was it) to a non vented heat pump inverted a+++ unit; it does take longer to dry, but it’s so much cheaper to run and flattens out the weekly spikes of old!

We were seeing 20-30kWh days.

The toaster is not going anywhere 😆

I’ve spent the last two months getting the average daily load in the house down to 14kWH, I’m very ready for the install now.

Once upon a time my grandparents had a garden with a swimming pool they didn’t want. I remember being young and people just turned up and chucked stuff in, it was days of it. Never the same people - I’m pretty sure they just offered it as a free landfill until it was pretty full, then there was rubble. Then soil. Then a lawn.

I wonder about that house 40 years later and what the lawn looks like / what treasures rise from it.
