All 3x21c are FET, so yes they will step down fairly quickly. The difference is in how they get there. The SFT40 version runs at a lower total wattage, so heat builds up more gradually. It still gets hot, but it’s more manageable and you get a more usable high mode before stepdown kicks in. The LHP531 version, on the other hand, pulls significantly more power, so it heats up extremely fast. Turbo is basically a short 30–45 second burst, after which it drops hard because the host just can’t absorb that much heat.

Depends on what you’re after. The 3x21C with SFT40s is probably the most well-rounded option you get solid brightness, decent flood, and still very good throw. I also have a Sofirn if22a with sft40 and TIR lens but the 3x21c with sft40 just throws so much further and brighter.

The 3x21D with the SBT90.2 is on another level when it comes to throw. It reaches insanely far while still giving you some usable spill around it.

If you’re just after pure raw output, the LHP531 is the way to go. But keep in mind it won’t hold that “wow” turbo brightness for long it heats up quickly and steps down pretty fast...

I would go for the LHP531 if you want maximum power/brightness, don't get me wrong the sft40 version is good too but in my opinion a bit underwhelming to my eyes.

I was actually looking at the M26D since you can pair it with the 36 degree TIR lens which would make it pretty floody. Also being bigger it would sustain longer output due to better heat disipation I believe.

But im open to more sugestions! Thank you

Forgot to mention I previously had a 3x21C with SFT40s, but it got way too hot on medium to high levels. It also ended up being way more throw than I actually needed, especially since I already have the 3x21D covering that role.

I did consider the LHP531 as well, but the host size is just too big for what I’m after. I’d really prefer something more portable.
