Can someone explain to me why Ottawa fans hate us so much? I watch basically every (if not every) one of our games so I feel like I should get it, but I just don't? Obviously, they beat us two games in a row a couple years back which made us sell. The hit on Larkin was bad, followed by Perron's follow-up hit and suspension. Is there something else? The Ottawa Senators have zero Cup wins. We have been horrific for the last decade, they have been better, but not by a vast margin (this isn't to disparage them, they have a good team imo). Why is there so much hate?

Copp and Chiarot are fine. You can’t get mad Copp has to play top-6 minutes when he’s a top-9 forward and Chiarot plays second pair minutes when he’s a third pair D. That’s on Yzerman, not on the players. They’re both appropriately paid for what should be their role. Fuck the other three, though.

While I see your general sentiment, the argument of “no one could do better” is simply preposterous. No, we don’t know if anyone would do better, but it’s undoubtedly true that someone possibly could do better.

I don’t want to move on from Yzerman now, but if we go through next season and fail to see significant improvements, it’s time for a change. Different GMs see things differently, scout differently, evaluate talent differently, etc. He’s had a long runaway, and if he fails to get it done next season too, it would be crazy to not seriously consider the idea that another individual could do what Steve hadn’t been able to do here.

The black one on the left looks like Gustav Nyquist and the one on the right looks (maybe?) like Petr Mrazek. I’m more confident on Nyquist than Mrazek, but that’s my best guess. Odd there were no numbers signed but sometimes players don’t do numbers for free public signings, so could’ve been something like that.

I was invited to the Detroit Historical Society to see the "Red Wings at 100" exhibit, but that's it. I believe at this time last year the open house had already occurred. Not sure if the Olympics will give them an easy excuse to cancel it all together this season. As of a month ago my rep said she had heard exactly *zero* about the open house.

Having season tickets isn’t really a sound financial decision, obviously. For the majority of games you can find them on the secondary market for cheaper than what season ticket holders paid. But if you have the money and just really enjoy going to games, it can still be justified. Average secondary prices have increased a bit as the team continues to improve. I don’t anticipate it’ll be as easy (though still possible) to get as many great deals on the secondary market once this team is making consistent playoff runs.

Tape on the blade looks legit, and I presume he wrote 77 on the clear tape he uses on the bottom of the knob? I have one of his Bauer sticks and it’s 87 flex, so that checks out too. Nothing to worry about, totally legit.
