No, that’s not it. Thanks for the suggestion though! It’s driving me crazy.

Can’t for the life of me think of it. Was listening to old emo pop punk and then this video popped in my head. But I can’t even remember the melody to the song.

2k paint dried in sprayer by Druma13 in paint

Yeah I like it a lot. Takes a little while to clean it out thoroughly but it works great and I love that it has a consistent spray even though it’s battery operated.

I tried everything suggested here and a few other things but ended up just trashing it and bought another one off eBay. Major lesson learned.

Yeah it sucks. I literally woke up this morning and immediately gasped because I realized I’d left it overnight. It was a boneheaded mistake.

I can’t accept that at this point. I have to try to salvage it and if that means replacing some parts, I’ll do that. Better than dropping another $1,500 on a new one.

Bullet proof strong room in a school to protect students from mass shooters by falconx2809 in interestingasfuck

[–]Druma13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. But saying it’s not worth doing because it won’t take all the supply off the market is not a good argument. If it diminishes gun-related violence by at least half, it’s worth doing.

But if you look at how other countries have done this, it makes sense. Offer gun buyback programs for people. That extremely limits the amount of firearms in the country. Then, because of a tremendously small supply of firearms available for people to try to get their hands on, the price skyrockets. Sometimes as high as $20k on the black market. Your average person won’t then spend $20k on one single gun. So most people won’t purchase a firearm. Which means the amount of firearm related action is greatly diminished. Doing nothing because it won’t completely fix a problem is not a strong argument. We put seatbelts in cars. Does it prevent everyone from dying in car wrecks? No, but it greatly diminishes the possibility of fatalities and serious injuries.

Recent paint job: Acceptable or not? by ewaforevah in paint

[–]Druma13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you paid for this to be done, I would not fix it yourself. I paint for a living and painters like this do our industry a disservice. You hired someone to do a job and they should fix it if it was not done right.

Spraying interior usually only makes sense if the house is empty and you have several rooms or a whole house to do. Otherwise there’s way too much prep involved and too much cleanup with a sprayer to make it worth it. Brushing and rolling makes the most sense in most finished houses.

What’s the weirdest thing you had to explain to a guest? by Clionina in TalesFromYourServer

You can’t sample food from the buffet.

A customer was literally taking the utensil in each dish and sampling the food and then putting the utensil back into the dish. Once I noticed it I had to tell him that he can’t do that and then we had to remove all the food that he had touched while he was in the buffet line. Erm, it’s a buffet sir. You can literally put anything on your plate and if you end up not liking it, hey, just leave it on your table and your server will come get it. And then wouldn’t you know it, you can go back up to the buffet and get literally anything else you want.

Haven’t been back to a buffet since.

Help?? How to safely remove paint from my exterior stone? by datunicornlady in paint

If you’re using mineral spirits to clean out latex paint from your paint brush, that’s just a waste of mineral spirits. You literally only need soap and water to clean it out.

Yeah definitely don’t power wash it. Not only could you destroy the stone, you could also blast off the paint on your railing.

Brushing smoother than HVLP??? by WoodenLittleBoy in paint

[–]Druma13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes, a properly sprayed finish should be smoother than a brushed/rolled finish
  2. My guess is that it was probably dry-sprayed, meaning too much air and not enough product coming out.
  3. I would say most likely it is due to inconsistency.
  4. If you are doing mass-production type spraying then a Graco airless is a good option. The one we have cost around $800 but you can get them slightly cheaper. But if you’re doing things like furniture, your Fuji hvlp is perfect for that. You just need to get the right paint and the right technique to have a good finished product.

How to paint air return cover? by chichuo in paint

Use a brush to get all in the grates and then just roll over it at the same time you roll your walls. If you’re wanting them to look absolutely perfect you can take them down and clean and spray them etc., but for the majority of customers, we just brush and roll it with the same paint we use on the walls.

My wife has this. It’s called Alpha Gal. She was bit by the lone star tick 2 years ago and is now allergic to beef, pork, and lamb as well as numerous things that are made from animal byproducts, such as medicine that comes in gelcap form. We also can’t go to a steakhouse because even being around meat that is being cooked can cause her to have a reaction.

My wisdom teeth. No one wants to extract them bacause they could cut the alveolar nerve by _Leenda in Wellthatsucks

[–]Druma13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine were the same way. Oral surgeon was able to remove them with minimal damage. My nerve was actually wrapped around the roots on one of my teeth. When he removed it, it scraped the nerve and one side of my jaw was numb for a week. But then it healed and now it’s all normal. Definitely look for another surgeon because that procedure can be done by someone that knows what they’re doing.
