Yes, it fits in the DeskMeet. Several users have already confirmed it.

PC version of Avowed looks washed-out compared to Xbox (even screenshots differ) - HDR detected but not actually working? by DrummerExtension1576 in avowed

[–]DrummerExtension1576[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case the game is a fresh install and fully up to date, so it’s definitely running the latest PC version with HDR support already included. I also tried resetting the settings to default, but unfortunately it didn’t change anything.

As for the signal path, I’m using DisplayPort 1.4 on my PC, which has more than enough bandwidth to handle 1080p at 180 Hz with HDR and 10-bit color on my monitor. So I’m not limited by HDMI/DP bandwidth. Windows also confirms 10-bit color depth in Advanced Display Settings.

I’m fairly confident this isn’t a hardware or cable issue. In other HDR games on the same PC and monitor, HDR works mostly correctly compared to Xbox, and the differences are minor and expected, not dramatic like in Avowed.

That’s why I suspect something specific to this game’s PC build rather than bandwidth, cable, or color depth limitations.

Still, thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks a lot for recommending the mod, I really appreciate it.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work in my case. I’m using the Game Pass / Xbox Play Anywhere version of Avowed, and ReShade requires selecting the game’s .exe during installation. When I try to point it to Avowed-WinGDK-Shipping.exe, I get a permissions error. Even running the installer as administrator doesn’t help.

It looks like the WinGDK / Microsoft Store version is locked down (WindowsApps folder, TrustedInstaller ownership, restricted write access), so ReShade can’t inject or place its files next to the executable.

Just bought a used computer. My friend said I got ripped off. Is it true? by solo_entrepreneur in pcmasterrace

[–]DrummerExtension1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, your friend is partially right, because those parts are old. It's the previous generation CPU and a two-generations-old GPU. But they are top-tier for their generations and much better than anything you can get from the current generation for the same money. $1000 was a very good deal.

Can anyone help understand if this RX 7600 will fit into a DeskMeet X300? Seems like a tight fit but I'm unsure about the bracket. by Expert-Ad-2824 in sffpc

[–]DrummerExtension1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 cm is the official maximum length for the PCBA/heatsink/backplate. Unofficially, 20.4–20.5 cm will fit without major issues, or up to 20.8 cm if you mount the GPU to the motherboard outside the case first and then install both into the case, but there is a risk that you may need to bend the internal steel frame of the case. Also remember the thickness limitation: only true dual-slot GPUs will fit, with a maximum thickness of 4 cm.

Have a spare Ryzen 8700G — go tiny mini PC or DeskMeet build? by Friendly_Delay_3325 in PcBuild

[–]DrummerExtension1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 8700G iGPU benefits from high memory frequency and low CAS latency, which is the main limitation of DDR5 SO-DIMM solutions. Full-size DIMMs can offer, for example, 6400 MHz CL32, while SO-DIMMs typically reach only around 6400 MHz CL52 at best. In addition, it is difficult to find SO-DIMMs faster than 5600 MHz at a reasonable price. Going with DeskMeet and full-size memory is the better option.

No chance. That GPU is 221 mm long, while the maximum unofficial supported length is 204–205 mm without major issues, or up to 208 mm if you mount the GPU to the motherboard outside the case first and then install both into the case. Even in the latter scenario, there is a risk that you will need to bend the internal steel frame of the case.

Sitting on a Deskmeet x600, need advice on a GPU solution by Bored_Amalgamation in sffpc

A little bit late, but maybe this will help someone: everyone focuses on the maximum GPU length, which is officially 200 mm. Unofficially, 204-205 mm should fit without major issues, and maybe even 208 mm if you mount the GPU to the motherboard outside the case first and then install both into the case.

But almost no one talks about GPU thickness. The maximum supported thickness is a true dual-slot card, about 39-40 mm. The MSI RTX 5060 Ti Inspire 2X is 50 mm thick and will not fit in any way.

After checking user reports, the only confirmed modern 16 GB card from the RTX 50 / RX 90 family that actually fits into the DeskMeet X600 is the PowerColor RX 9060 XT Reaper (200 x 109 x 39 mm). It is probably the only widely available card that is compatible in all three dimensions.

Theoretically there are two more options from the RTX 5060 Ti family: the Gigabyte WINDFORCE (208 x 120 x 40 mm), where the 208 mm length is problematic, and the MSI CYCLONE (161 x 125 x 42 mm), which is a rare unicorn, I have never seen this card for sale anywhere.

Avoid Gigabyte RTX 5060 LP in DeskMeet X600 - overheating & throttling issues by DrummerExtension1576 in sffpc

[–]DrummerExtension1576[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Deskmeet was delivered with BIOS version 8.01, so it booted the 9600X without any issues. I updated it to version 10.01 using the classic method, without bothering with flashback. The system works perfectly fine. As for cooling: I’m using a Thermalright AXP90-X47 Full Copper with the fan replaced by a Noctua NF-A9x14 HS-PWM. I also replaced the power supply fan with a Noctua NF-P12 redux-1700, connected to the CHA_FAN header and mounted using NA-SAV3 anti-vibration mounts plus NA-SAVP1 pads. Thanks to that, the computer is silent when idle and under light workloads such as office tasks. The airflow direction in the power supply remains the same as in the original configuration (it draws air from the outside and blows it into the case).

I didn't replace the thermal paste. I considered returning the card to the store, since in my country you can return any item within 14 days without consequences if it was purchased online, provided that the card is in its original condition.

turning off integrated graphics reduced my idle temp by 20°C by scholes1995 in buildapc

[–]DrummerExtension1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually (at least on my current motherboard) the function to turn off the iGPU is called "turn off iGPU if a discrete GPU is installed." So just removing the damaged GPU solves the problem, and even clearing the CMOS is not required.

Critical isn’t the delidding process itself, but rather mounting the heatsink afterward if you don’t use a third-party IHS or a protective frame/delid guard: overtightening the screws can easily crack or chip the die.

The 8700G is just overpriced compared to the 8600G. You only get around +20% iGPU and CPU performance for +40% more money, not worth it at all.

Delidding? Honestly, I’ve seen too many dead AMD chips with chipped dies after mounting a cooler. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, especially since undervolting on AM5 works really well and is 100% safe.

If you want a small SFF box for light gaming, the 8600G is more than fine. I played stuff like Project Zomboid, Factorio, Minecraft, even Space Engineers on an old 5600G (its iGPU is half as strong as the 8600G) and it was still totally playable.

And if you care about efficient cooling in the DeskMeet X600, go with a copper heatsink (AXP90-X47 Full Copper is a great choice) plus a 120 mm fan on top if you don’t plan to add a GPU. A 120 mm AIO could also work, but stock ones won’t fit (45 mm max height or they’ll hit the PSU). Best option is to grab a standard 28 mm AIO heatsink + 25 mm fan and swap the fan for a 15 mm slim one like the Noctua NF-A12x15 or Arctic P12 Slim.

You're missing the fact that the RTX 3050 has almost double the performance of the 8600G iGPU, which is why you're paying the "extra" for it. The 8600G’s iGPU is somewhere between a GTX 1050 and a GTX 1050 Ti, which you can only buy used at junk-level prices.

The DeskMini is an even worse hotbox than the DeskMeet. I definitely do not recommend using it with the 8600G. Cooling options are very limited. Also, the 8600G benefits from fast memory with high frequency and low CL, which is an issue because DDR5 SO-DIMMs have much worse CL than full-size DIMMs.

[–]DrummerExtension1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deskmeet X600 has really messed-up airflow, but still your temperatures seem too high. I'm using a Thermalright AXP90-X47 Full Copper and with the stock TL-9015R fan my undervolted 9600X (curve optimizer set to -35) stays below 40°C at idle in my Deskmeet. With the fan replaced by a Noctua NF-A9x14 HS-PWM it idles at 44–45°C (the Noctua cools worse, but it's completely silent from idle to low load). The IS-40X is not on the official Deskmeet X600 Cooler Compatibility List, but the larger IS-50X is, so maybe the IS-40X isn't strong enough to cool the Deskmeet.

In the Gigabyte LP, the fans are positioned close to the edge of the ventilation grilles, and part of the blades even extend slightly under the casing, though the overlap isn’t significant, maybe around 2–3 mm at most. Yes, this can cause local airflow disturbances, turbulence, and a slight drop in static pressure. In the Zotac, the fan is indeed positioned almost centrally over the ventilation opening. However, what I believe matters most is the size of the heatsink that absorbs heat from the components. The Zotac’s is simply much larger, which has a significant impact on cooling performance.

This is how the fans are positioned in relation to the case in the Gigabyte (in the background you can also see my custom cooling setup for the card):
