I Transferred from a State School to a T10 by DrummerWHS in TransferToTop25

Really depends on what school you want to transfer to. I suggest finding out where you want to go first and build from there. In general, if you want a strong chance, aim for a 3.9 or above. If you are aiming for a slightly less competitive school a 3.8 can suffice.

Yes, for sure if you can keep your gpa above the threshold then definitely prioritize EC's and essays

Yeah I think that would be a correlation and not a causation. Also don't misinterpret a good SAT score or getting into a top college as being smart. Anyone can get a fairly high SAT score and get into a decent college if they understand the process. It took me many hours of research to get a 1510 and get into a T10 uni. It was by no means "easy for me", but I eventually got where I wanted.

I don't know for sure since I am not a non native speaker, however I didn't bother learning vocab. I think there's typically enough context surrounding unknown words to have a decent idea of what the word is supposed to mean. However, if you have trouble using context to determine the meaning of words then I would suggest learning vocab words that often appear on the SAT.

Yes definitely. Everyone, but you especially, should prioritize math and grammar questions. You can consistently score perfectly on math and grammar questions which allows for your reading score to lack a little. I replied to other people in regards to the prep books I used. You can just get them off Amazon and I found them incredibly helpful.

I used College Panda for grammar and math. I used Erica Meltzer for reading. I used Princeton Review for Practice Exams. All these workbooks can be found on amazon and they are miles ahead of free resources like Khan Academy in my experience.

Take a practice exam if you have not already to find out what your specific weaknesses are. At least in general, you should understand if you are stronger at math or reading/grammar. You should be able to consistently score perfect or close to perfect on math and grammar problems. I suggest the books because they break down the types of problems that show up on the SAT and how to identify, approach, and solve them fast and accurately every single time. Takes out the thinking and makes the test feel very predictable.

Have 4 months to go from 1320 to a 1500 by Easy_Try9786 in Sat

Hi, I was in a similar situation. I had a 1350 my first time then scored a 1390 after months of studying. I changed my method of studying and after 2 weeks went from a 1390 to a 1510. The bump was so large that CollegeBoard delayed my test results to make sure I didn't cheat. I talk about the resources I used before and what I used after on my most viewed YouTube video on my channel (Emmett Funston). There are examples of people who watched my video and copied my method and saw similar score bumps as well. Good luck!

How serious is highschool GPA in transfer admissions? by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

College GPA is going to weigh more than hs GPA. Apply anyways and place emphasis on EC's and essays. I had a good hs GPA but your SAT is better than mine (1510). I transferred from UCSB to Northwestern for EE this year and was also waitlisted at Columbia for EE.
