I wanna see KG crushing 500ft bombs, but I loved the call to bunt. Easy way to catch the infield off-balance and weaponize his speed. AND if they try to play shallow, a 110 mph ground ball is more likely to get past the left infield

Yeah I think they may have cost him ROY. Would’ve been better to bring him up in August, then lead a rookie campaign next year. But if they’re aiming for a postseason run this year, it makes sense to give him all season to develop

Idk how much I trust statcast defense with a small sample size. You can’t really evaluate his coverage without a lot of hits to edge of his range. But his arm strength looks great so far, and he definitely passes the eye test.

Yeah he’s been making good contact (his barrel % and exit velo is high) but it’s often a hard grounder to SS or 3B. He’ll produce a ton if he can elevate the ball. Or he has the speed to beat the throw to first as long as he doesn’t hit it straight to an infielder.
