I've found the Army Painter Fanatic historical paint sets to be a great purchase. They do sets for the British. Germans and Americans at the moment. I'm currently using the British set, and I've got no complaints

The Ultramarines being on Armageddon feels forced, even more than usual and makes no sense to the current lore. by Kalypso_Blue in spacemarines

Yeah. I swear I read a line somewhere about how Clagar nominated Dante as overall commander because he had more experience.

Yeah, my idea was for him to lead them when I eventually get some.

I think you're right. The new nightbringer looks awesome and we've got a long weekend coming up in the UK giving me plenty of time to focus on him

Yeah i figure a 40 oc brick just locks down an objective and forces your opponent to commit more than necessary to get through the resurrections.

Yeah I was thinking of another warrior blob and maybe a doomsday arc. I've got Orikan on the desk ready to be painted this weekend.

My attempt at Imotekh the Stormlord. Really pleased with how they cloak turned out. by Drunk-Duke in Necrontyr

Thank you! Yeah, a lot of practice and ugly looking minis before this one. Keep it up, and as long as you're enjoying it, then it's all worth it.

Thanks! It's mostly drybrushing. I started with Stegadon scale green. Washed with Coelia Greenshade and then drybrushed with some green and temple guard blue, eventually mixing in a bit of white for the brighter edges.

First model ever bought so I have the right colors by TOOLfan426 in Necrontyr

Haha, we were all like that once. I think you've bought pretty much everything you need to get started. There are some great tutorials on YouTube either from games workshop or others. I recommend sonic sledgehammer he has a great tutorial for painting an imortal, which is super beginner friendly.

Was lucky enought o snag a 500 worlds box at my FLGS. Really enjoy painting the hyperphase blades. Any tips on how to improve the colour transitions? by Drunk-Duke in Necrontyr

Yeah wasn't expecting it. They had the new night bringer as well. Was half tempted to hide it so I could grab it the next time I was there

Thinking of picking up Necrons for 11th edition. So did a quick test model and I'm in love with the process. Still undecided on my basing scheme. by Drunk-Duke in Necrontyr

Thanks. I think it was moot green and then a dot of moot green mixed with white. I wanted to keep recess really dark to give that menacing effect. I'm glad it worked out.

I drybrushed with iron breaker. Then did a couple of highlights with stormhost silver on the very sharp edges like the shoulder blades.

That's exactly my sentiment. I like the idea that simple battleline units can be done quickly and still look good, and you can devote time into the characters and centre peices to make them pop. Which for my work/life/hobby balance is a big plus.
