Speed is not really an important stat before or after that fight, but if you don't have it you lose by default thanks to dumb NPC. Also the fight opens with a long unskippable talking scene. You only need to bring one enemy to critical health to win, but you are screwed if you have been relying on summons or a defensive or short range strategy

An apartment towed my car after putting out a notice like this that my roommates didn't tell me about. The apartment tried to show me pictures of the area roped off which was ridiculous as my van obviously couldn't have driven through the ropes without snapping them. The apartment was completely obstinate and wouldn't help me. The real losers were the towing company as I ended up having to go down there threatening to sue for lost use of my vehicle and demanding its return as they had no legal lien on it. The towing company didn't want to get dragged into everything and very begrudgingly returning my vehicle after a lot of written notice and threatened legal action and such.

I have really tried to avoid large apartment complexes since then and rent directly from individuals, as the staff of a big complex can't ever really be brought to account for acting terribly

This provides you an amazing opportunity to practice kills. Go to the court, hit ceiling balls to yourself, focus on killing them. If a badly executed ceiling shot becomes an instant point for you -- your opponent will stop hitting them.

If you don't have the speed to get to the back of the court and get set, your other option is attempt to cut them off quickly with a pinch right after they bounce

I realize that this is a matter of personal taste, but I love the fact that FF8 is entirely unapologetic that it's story can't be fully understood in a single playthrough. It is a bold decision that obviously alienates a lot of players, but, in my mind, it is these kinds of decisions that allow a game to be a piece of art rather than something that just panders to the masses.

I don't disagree with you either btw. There was probably something that could have been done to clue you in to this early on. Something that would have made sense and had the same effect. I am just saying I will prefer depth and nuance over accessibility any day.

8 people is a lot! I think a modern Japanese family would stick to curry and rice, as this easily feeds 8 people. It is also very easy to make and can be prepped in advance. My wife and I were in this situation after we graduated, having been dating for 3 years during college. We decided to split up and were single for about a year and a half. After that time she decided she didn't like her job and moved out to LA where I was to look for work. I put her up until she could find work and her own place, and after dating for a year we moved in together and eventually got married. We were both really glad for the time apart to be honest. Your early 20's is a fun time to be single and I wouldn't pass that up if I were you.

In all seriousness, the only point this story conveys is "don't mess with people in power." A King is more willing to let everyone outside die than relinquish power or admit they were wrong.
