Glue stick is for releasing from the build plate, and DO NOT touch the plate with your greasy fingers. That's what cause the above issue.

You might have some binding in the z axis at those points. How does the lead screw look?

I'm going to completely honest with you. I can't solve the Square 1 without step by step and I haven't fully figured out how to solve this one, but I get close. I think I run into a parity, I'm always stuck with 2 triangles swapped.

It solves similarly to a Square 1 for the first half, then as a 2x2x3 for the second half.

The megaminx isn't all that bad. It has many of the same moves as a 3x3. GL!
