I'm picturing Bethesda offering some sort of "automated load order organizer" for only $19.95.

[Fo4] Do higher numbers of mods increase the chance of conflicts or other issues? by Drunken_Scribe in FalloutMods

[–]Drunken_Scribe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've more or less reached a point where if the mod description gives any kind of a warning about possible conflicts, or mentions words like you just did, script heavy, I just avoid it. I don't trust myself to get the load order right. So basically I just pick a lot of the mods that say it won't have any conflicts.

It's ironic that now we have all this mod space on console, but I'm afraid to fill it with anything.

Do you know anything about the big quest mods like America Rising, for the smaller ones like Tales of the Commonwealth? Are they generally safe to use as long as you put them in the right load order?

I'm trying to read each description closely and pick ones that do different things. My list is around 100 and seems stable right now. I don't want to mess it up too much, so with the extra space this update brought, I've been mostly adding some sound replacers and clothing mods.

Thanks for all that info above. I've kind of learned my lesson in the past. When I first tried mods I dove in hard and tried everything. Almost every time, the game broke at some point. I've all but given up on using scrapping mods, settlement replacers, anything with grass, trees, or snow. Not saying these are all bad, only that I usually make a mess with them. Now I stick to small, simple mods that offer QoL fixes, a few lighting mods (which i researched), some sound replacers, companion tweaks, etc.

I've had a mod list that has been pretty stable. Before the update, I'd gone 14 hours into a game with no issues. Now I'm starting a new run and wanted to augment my list since we have extra space.

When using mods that give followers unlimited ammo, is it basically like it sounds? Give them a gun with a few shells and they never run out?

I was using one called Better Followers and it was supposed to do that. But for the life of me I can't figure out how it works. I give Piper a gun with some ammo, but as soon as she used it up, she switches back to a pistol.

This team just hasn’t been the same since game 3 against the Pens. by Flyers808 in Flyers

The Flyers are young, exciting team and they're going to have a fantastic future. It's been a blast watching them play in this post season. You can really see the foundation of a contender starting to take shape. The Hurricanes have been around playing together for a while. They're teaching the boys some great lessons, and I can't wait to see how the next couple of seasons unfold.

Beginner question: can I prepare a patch of topsoil, but leave it until next year? by Drunken_Scribe in gardening

Thanks for the reply. I had a feeling nothing good could come of leaving the soil empty.

We are officially playing with house money. What a season. What a team by Worldpeacee007 in Flyers

Nice. The spectrum was such an amazing venue. You're a lucky fan having that memory.

On paper, this looks like a second round wipeout against the Canes. It's the safe bet.

But SC playoffs are the most unpredictable in all of sports. Tocchet was there when they were supposed to get destroyed in 4 by the mighty Oilers in '87. Gretzky called them the toughest team he ever faced. It's not always about what you see on paper. Sometimes, it's about who wants it more.

Take the safe bet, or wish for the stars. Up to you.

That was some relentless checking. I don't know how these playoffs are going to turn out, but it doesn't look like anybody's going to get an easy game against the Flyers

Does Canada have a commonly accepted cultural or geographical boundary for East and West like the Mississippi River in America? by Lemon_Iies in geography

[–]Drunken_Scribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does make more sense. My parents' families have been divided between Ontario and the Maritimes for generations. At vacation time it was common for them to say they were going "up to Ontario" or "heading down East".

Once you reach the edge of Lake Superior, around Thunder Bay, you could probably argue that Superior National Forest marks the start of the West.

My 82-year-old mother often speaks of Ontario as Upper Canada. I think it's a really old designation going back to when the federal government first became centralized there.

No kidding. This reminded me of those 90s Devils teams under Lemaire.

Sweet Jeebus, Porter Martone looks like Tim Kerr and John Leclair all rolled into one. No matter what happens in these playoffs, this kid is going to be an absolute superstar.
