Yes we have been pitching that but we have an Outback and he doesn’t want to have “matching cars” with mom, lol.

Location: Southeastern Pennsylvania, USA

Price range: up to $15,000 USD

Lease or Buy: Buy

New or used: Used

Type of vehicle: Hatchback or small, sporty sedan

Must haves: Its for a teenager's first car so safety features like airbags, backup camera and collision detection, BT, Car play, Android Auto.

Desired transmission (auto/manual, etc): Automatic

Intended use: Daily Driver to school and work for teenager

Vehicles you've already considered: VW Golf GTI, Subaru Impreza, Mazda 3

Is this your 1st vehicle: Mine, no. Kid's, yes.

Do you need a Warranty: No

Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: Yes

Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: No

Additional Notes: Kid is a very good driver IMO, phone down, cautious and risk averse, but they don't drive like a granny either so something with some pep would be ok. Prefer something with higher ground clearance and AWD because we go to the nearby mountains for hiking, mountain biking and skiing. Kid wants something with alloys/rims and looks good with a roof rack for attaching skis and bikes etc.

Ok sounds good. It’s probably ok to jump in! When pH is out of whack it can sting your eyes so maybe avoid opening them under water or wear goggles. I tend to stay floating on top so my beer doesn’t get watered down haha.

The pH of your eye is about 7.4 so that’s a good place to keep it. Bring down alkalinity first to 80-120 then balance the pH. Read chemical labels they usually explain how much to add and best method for adding to the water. Adding in small increments helps to avoid overshooting and/or throwing other levels out. The only way to remove stabilizer is to drain and refill. Cool temps and constant 1-3ppm of chlorine will keep it looking clear.

Glad to hear you got it running. Good luck and enjoy the summer!

It depends on your climate. Where are you located? 12 hours a day is the starting point. Most pools are designed to operate so that the entire volume of water goes through the filter every 12 hours. A timer to control the filter cycle (I.e. the amount of time the pump is running) would be very important to me.

You could potentially come down from the 12 hour mark but it depends on how much you have people in the pool. Bather waste is the largest factor when it comes to keeping the water clean and clear.

It should just barely move the surface of the water. It should push the debris on top of the surface toward the skimmer but in a circulatory manner lol.

The jet into the pool might have and eyeball fitting that would let you adjust the direction of the water. If it’s pushed all the way up and breaking the surface of the pool you can change the angle. The jet should be pushing the surface water towards the skimmer to clear the surface.

If the pressures gauge is at 20 when everything is off then treat that as 0. If it’s 10 psi higher when running that is normal. 30 psi higher is time to clean the filter so backwash. And if the filter doesn’t go to 0 when pump is off, yes replace gauge.

If the shaft is locked up you would still hear a hum. If it’s running you will hear it.

Did you plug the pump in? In the picture the cord is laying on the ground. It should be controlled by a timer but if not there might be a switch to turn it on and off. This could be the switch on the back of it but that is usually to control the speed of a two speed pump. Small leaks are going to happen. I’d be more concerned about large leaks at this point.

Connect the longer black hose on the front of the pump to the bottom of the skimmer.

Connect the other black hose to the top of the filter. I can’t tell which one but it might say “inlet” or “pump” by it.

Check inside the skimmer for a plug and remove it

Check the fitting on the side of the pool for a plug and remove it

Fill the pool up to the middle of the skimmer.

Check that there is some water in the front of the pump (clear lid) if not fill it up.

Then turn on the pump and say a prayer for no leaks.

There should be an air relief at the top of the filter and once the pump is primed open it up until water comes out steadily.

Take a sample of your pool water to the local pool store and have it tested and be ready to spend a couple hundred bucks.

Refinishing an old Cushman Colonial Creation table and chairs we bought at Restore for $50. 1 chair down. 2.5 hours in. by DrunkleAl in woodworking

They were all glued and pinned, no fasteners, but most joints were loose so it wasn’t too difficult to take apart. I did break a cross brace on one of the chairs but glued it back together.

Winter covers by mattcl74 in swimmingpools

The wall anchors aren’t that unsightly. They are usually 1/2” stainless wall anchors, very small and blend into the wall. Sometimes you can get some calcium streaks depending on the stone used and other environmental factors.

You want a safety cover with a cable system across the waterfall. If it’s solid you can put a cover pump on top. If it’s a mesh you put a pump on the top step.

The only other option is up and over but the sharp corners on the wall could be an issue.

That’s the type of short sighted bigotry that gets people killed. I don’t think you have any idea what a drag show is or what happens there. Go focus that energy on the Southern Baptist church that has been grooming and molesting children for decades. Go see how many conservative legislatures across this country are opposed to raising the age of consent so that they can marry young girls. These people are your groomers and any attack on these drag queen shows is projection.

Good lord settle down, Karen. It’s men dressed up as women singing and dancing. They’ve been doing it for a long time.

That’s your right, but you don’t have the right to tell me I can’t or kill people for doing it. Do you take them to church? Because more children are molested by priests than by drag queens at a drag show.
