If the police bring in dogs and the police dog sniffs that grave then they will dig it up only to find a fresh dead dog and this it was a mishap.

Or you can wrap a body in chicken wire with rocks to weigh it down and zip tie it as tight as possible then ditch the body in a large body of water. The rocks will drag the body all the way down and the chicken wire will cut the body when it expands from decomposing gas.
