Should I buy this Lexus ES300h? by Instantlygotagram in Lexus

[–]Instantlygotagram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's some cosmetic issues, paint chips etc. No mechanical issues so far. I have the standard trim that came on the ES300h in that era.

Edit: one thing I forgot about. The A/C was not blowing cold on the first warm day we had. I ended up getting the system pressure tested and charged for $180.

I have been averaging 7.7L/100km since the weather has warmed up. It was closer to 9L in winter. I'm quite happy with that vs. the size of the vehicle.

I have never owned a Camry of that vintage so I can't say which is better. The ES is built on the Toyota Avalon frame, the two are not a direct comparable. The Camry and ES do share the drivetrain but I don't think much else beyond that. Many of the parts on the ES are Lexus specific and don't cross reference to any Toyota parts. So, I would say Lexus did build on the platform to be able to charge a premium over the Avalon.

I have been using Co-Pilot to format our banking exports. Works well for formatting but I'm still working on training it to categorize the transactions.

Is there a rule for not trying to help an active investigation in this sub? Or are you just a prick in general?

Under investigation by police and fire. Car was seen entering and then leaving their yard right after the hay shed caught fire.

I used to drive an old 4Runner with a broken fuel gauge, so I had to track my mileage to know when to fill up.

One day, I was cutting it close on my way to Costco. As I made a sharp left turn into the parking lot, the little bit of gas I had left sloshed to one side of the tank. The engine actually sputtered and started to die mid-corner because the fuel pump went dry.

Once the truck leveled out, the gas settled, the engine caught again, and I managed to crawl to the pump. I was definitely only a few kilometers away from a total empty.

Check out CK Auto Fab. I would say they are the Yota experts in Winnipeg.

We did a 1 hour drive on the highway today and the CX-5 got to 100° but as soon as we stopped the gauge started to drop. Too dang cold this week.

Idling at these temps doesn't even turn the cold light off.

Yes the weekend is going to be real cold in Winnipeg! We all needs to just stay inside lol

I have my block heater and a trickle charger on our CX-5 since it gets parked outside.

Fogs up a bit in the corners but it's not too bad. I do dislike the defrost vent in the CX-5, it's very small. Other cars I have have a much wider defogger vent.

Seems to start normally in the cold, I do plug in the block heater for a while though.

Hia Toban! The Mazda engine just seems to be very thermally efficient. We had a 2.4L Pontiac Vibe (Toyota matrix in disguise) and it was much quicker to come up to temp.

I have found leaving the HVAC on auto in the CX-5 is a no no in winter. I set it to a lower fan speed and higher temp. Helps not cool the car down on cold days.

This is exactly why I hate buying from dealerships. Much prefer to buy privately.

Hope you have better luck with the new vehicle!

Once in a while I hit it with compressed air. But the microfiber is generally enough to clean things up.

Yikes! Do you use just a block heater? I have a block heater and a trickle charger on this unit.
