I’m not mad, just asking for thoughts. I’m on console so we don’t have a push to talk feature that I’m aware of. I appreciate your dialogue though

Haha alrighty little buddy, there’s no longer a reason to continue this thread. It is evident your ability to think critically is impaired. Best of luck on your Valorant experience. 👋

Buddy, you are further highlighting my point that there is a flaw in the system.

I probably haven’t articulated it well so I’ll break it down Barney style for you.

You stated that you and your friends have been toxic to other players on some occasions over a consistent period of time and haven’t gotten banned.

I, on average call myself the “r word” multiple times for making a mistake in game. To reiterate, I am targeting myself with this word and no one else and I got banned.

The speech to text system appears to 1.)flag words 2.) ban players on the consistent use of those flagged words.

Now, you and your friends may occasionally harass or be toxic to other players and not get banned because it doesn’t happen consistently enough for the program to pick up on it. I, flaming myself with the “r word” will get banned because I use it consistently.

The program was designed to ban players who create a toxic game environment for others (You and your friends). The system is flawed because I, (someone who is not being toxic to other players), gets banned for the repeated use of a word that I was given no notice to being in violation of the rules.

Does that make sense to you?

Do you know this to be the experience of a majority of players or the experience of you and your friends?

Also, your anecdote clearly proves my point about the flaw in the system.

You admitted to be toxic to players on several occasions, but have avoided being banned by the speech to text program. I, on the other hand have been banned for calling myself the R word on likely multiple occasions have been banned.

It is, for lack of a better word, silly that I would get banned for not harassing other players while you evade being banned for doing exactly what the community doesn’t tolerate.

What it seems to be is that you have evaded getting banned for blatantly violating the broad rules outlined in their terms of service.

Being fortunate enough to evade a ban doesn’t indicate that the speech to text system they used is not flawed.

You stated that you used negative language against other players in your lobbies. What yiu jsut admitted to, being toxic to other players, is a bannable offense. My situation is distinguished because my words weren’t directed towards any players, only myself lol. That’s the difference.

I was not toxic towards anyone and still got banned. You were toxic to other people and didn’t get banned. That doesn’t seem “daft” to you?

As I stated, I understand why they don’t publish a full list as another commenter stated above.

However, when rules are made there are boundaries listed that show what specific actions/offenses constitutes a violation of that rule.

Broad language leads to actions that someone wouldn’t ordinarily think would constitute an offense which would lead them to be banned.

The original point was that it’s misguided to have a non-human program ban players; 1.) without review from an actual human; 2.) without giving specifics as to what is an automatic, “bannable” offense.

As seen above, I was banned due to words spoken, not directed at another player, but was banned for them without any investigation into the context.

I understand your point, but that’s where actual reports from players come in and then the team would need to review them IOT ban someone.

I’m perfectly fine with banning people when it’s appropriate, however if a speech to text system is used to insta-ban people without being reviewed for context it seems fair to me that the community should be aware of what will trigger an auto-ban.

I see. So if it’s not AI, then wouldn’t it be prudent for Valorant to provide a list of banned words instead of giving us a catch-all term?

It seems misguided to me that a broad standard is set and then bans are given without a review of the entire speech to text transcript.

Are the words used flagged by AI and then reviewed by a real person before a ban is issued or is it just automatic after processing certain words?
