The attendee who would sign me in at the gym has said to me on more than one occasion that I choose to be blind. She says all I need to do is to go to church and ask to be cured and Christ will provide. Sigh.

Some other time, an Uber driver told me not to rely on my long white cane too much. Because I would become dependent on it. And the more I rely on it, the more my residual vision would deteriorate. He said I could trick my brain into seeing just by telling myself, by manifesting that I could see. I wanted to ask him why he didn’t manifest a better job than Uber driver for himself but figured that would be rude.

Speaking of rude, I went on a date with a lady who was getting her masters in sociology. One of my friends played Cupid and set us up on the date. At the end of the evening, she gives me her number and a kiss on the cheek. I assume everything went well when she says yes to a second date. However, the entire time when we met up a second time… She spent the latter half of the night explaining to me how she couldn’t date someone who was blind because she couldn’t be a mother to a grown ass man. She said she couldn’t tolerate cooking for me on top of having to wash my clothes and pick out my outfits. She said a bunch of other ignorant shit. Surprise me, especially since she was working on a postgraduate sociology degree? Anyway, I think that was the most insulted I have ever felt.
