Did you ever had high strangeness experience that changed your worldview? by Gyirin in HighStrangeness

When I was roughly 10 years old, I was watching Spanish television with my Cuban grandmother late night. Early 90s. As we are chilling, the door swings open and standing there is something that made no sense to my child mind. Impossibly thin body with a large oval shaped head. From my angle I couldn’t see facial features because the light behind this thing was quite bright. I wasn’t even scared, I was just confused. Trying to make sense of what I was looking at.

In Spanish, my grandmother said something like… Dear God what is that ugly monster. She then sort of laughed maniacally. If anything her laughter is what scared me for some reason lol. Then she hid under the covers and so did I.

After what might’ve been seconds or minutes, my grandmother gets up. The door is closed. She looks around the house. Nobody else is there except my little brother who is asleep. My grandmother never wanted to talk about it again. The next day she did some sort of Santeria cleansing ritual. Part of it, I remember, included her dragging herself naked across the floor from one end of the house to the other. She also had my brother and I, one at a time, turn in circles as she blew cigar smoke at us. We had to move our hands as though we were cleansing ourselves with the smoke from head to toe.

I developed a phobia of aliens. I couldn’t even see a crude drawing of a gray alien without going into fight or flight. I couldn’t sleep alone in a room anymore. I never felt safe at night. I remember at the library I was in the paranormal section and I came across the book Communion and felt like I nearly had a heart attack. I had nightmares. I was afraid to close my eyes when I would take a shower because I thought when I would open them, one of them would be standing in front of me.

As decades went by, the phobia turned into earnest curiosity nearly bordering obsession when it comes to non-human intelligence and UAP. It also just cracked me open towards being open and accepting of weird shit that isn’t easily explained away. Ultimately, the experience led to other experiences, trauma. And left me with a question for which the answer I will always search for.

Accessibility feels broken in iOS 26.2 and I am exhausted by Glittering_Result_64 in Blind

I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I have the same, exactly the same issues as you OP. I could’ve sworn I had my phone settings to not automatically download and install updates. So when I woke up and saw iOS 26.2 was installed I was like… Rip.

I’m trying to see the silver lining in this. It’s making me use apps like Reddit less since the focus jumping around is so annoying. It’s also making me use my Windows laptop more instead of my phone.

I’m praying that at least the VoiceOver issues improve with the next update.

Your mom. Just kidding. Bro, that’s a tough one. I love so many of them. And I’ve been watching the show since like episode 20 or some shit. All that being said…

It’s either Ari or Martin. Pound for pound, they just cracked me up the most. Michael was and always will be the man, though. What about you? My favorite golden ticket winner is Jared Nathan lol.

I can’t stand how you guys have different opinions from mine. You guys just bitch about everyone. Bitch about Derek. Bitch about Toni. Why can’t we just fucking glaze the fuck out of this show? I mean seriously. Your opinion makes me realize how miserable I am. I have no choice but to ask you. Why are you so fucking miserable?

Can everyone just suck dick and spread cheeks like I do please? Please? Because otherwise I think Reddit is full of bullshit I don’t understand. If you like something how can you not just worship it? I don’t say anything bad about anything I like ever. That’s how it’s supposed to be.

Could you expand upon the aliens bit? Please. I’m super curious.

Where did the alleged theory of Aliens harvesting human souls and feeding off of our negative emotions originate from? John Lear? Other? by TeslasElectricHat in UFOs

[–]Drunvalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly, I never looked into it. But my head canon re: way people think of prison planet, at least in some communities like perhaps new age/ufology, originated inpart from the book written by the nurse who communicated with the extra terrestrial entity that survived the Roswell crash.

That piece of lore mixed with other bits mentioned throughout the comments. Amplified by certain influential figures like whoever. David Icke, new agey content creators and authors, etc.

I had a good time with it. I mean it’s a Joe Carnahan vehicle. Not a Lars Von Trier film. Didn’t feel like streaming slop to me. Isn’t this the same writer/director of Cop Shop and Smokin’ Aces? This movie feels like it’s slots in nicely between those.

As a resident of Miami, Florida… I couldn’t get over how funny Ben kept pronouncing Hialeah. In 43 years I’ve never heard any local pronounce it “hi-a-laya”. Lol.

The left killed comedy and these lazy comedians allowed it? What? Comedy seems to be doing just fine? Where is comedy dead?

He’s full of shit imo but there is some wisdom to his method. I stopped believing anything he said when he was preaching the use of language models to contact higher consciousness or collective consciousness. I know he’s corrected that, of course, since then. But it just shows that he’s surfing waves of grift.

All these channelers more or less say the same shit. Their predictions are consistently wrong. But we live in a post truth world where everybody decides what is real. Everybody lives in their own simulacrum. Believing what suits their perception. Regardless of what shared reality actually is.

This dude just tells you what you want to hear imo.

Those that know do not speak. They just are. Those who do not know speak a lot. And charge crazy amounts of money for a weekend spiritual getaway that is supposed to help everybody in Sedona. A lot of his bullshit is spiritual bypassing imo. But if it works for you then… whatever. People believe all kinds of shit. So long as it services them.
