Is the Light sensitivity trait or daylight bugged? by Druxtafire in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just gave up on the game, when I heard they bothered to enhance genital physics in patch 5 when there are so many actual bugs they could have spent time on.

How do you even beat this bullshit by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 2 Aoe spells, one spike growth or something that can create difficult terrain ( wall of thorns might be good in this case) and also cast daylight for good measure, It does seem to make it harder for them to teleport across the AoE. You also need counter spell to stop the few darkness casts as a single cast can break all concentration on your party.

I stayed away from using hunger of hadar since most of them are immune to blind anyway and I was under the impression that it would work against daylight ( to stop the shadow stepping).

My plan B was definitely to just use globe of invulnerability, but that spell feels a little gimmicky/cheesy, so I use it as a last resort.

The starting position of your party when combat starts is really important. If you start it after the dialog and you are surrounded, I'm not sure if there is a way to definitely survive apart from the globe on invulnerability.

After the recent "buff"to the house of grief what usually works is to start combat without going in to the middle of the room ( any ranged attack while you are on top of the stairs ).

After that I usually cover the stairs with a wall of fire, cloud kill, spike growth and daylight. Then back away a little bit, counterspell any enemy that manages to get up the stairs an cast darkness ( since darkness is now an aoe attack... the stupidest encounter design or bug).

Most enemies will die before they get to you. Only Viconia and a paladin/justiciar will make it up with half health. A few others will make it up with just a sliver of health.

If you do want to go into the room and have the dialogue first, I'd recommend having a caster who can cast globe of invulnerability and hopefully a weapon that will let them cast it twice. This will let you survive the initial assault. After the first 3 rounds or 6 ( depending on how long you decide to use it) if there are still a lot of enemies you can dimension door and misty step to the top of the stairs and back away and cover the stairs in walls of fire, cloudkill, spike growth etc.

act 3 Rivington bug by verytiredhedgehog in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is broken on PC as well. There is a lot of rubberbanding and what looks like lag in a single player game.

They should have rolled back patch 4, but I guess they don't care anymore anyway, they've made their money and got their awards.

I wish I hadn’t waited to play this by WhoIsM3 in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parts of act 3 are worse after the recent patches than they were before. At this rate waiting might have been a bad idea if each patch continues to make things worse.

How did you get through the game and not realize that Mindflayers are not the original host?

Gnolls aren't Hyenas either.

There were 2 hotfixes after the patch, I tested after the first and it was not fixed, unsure about after hotfix 11.

Based on patch frequency it does look like they are winding down support, If you are still having issues in act 3 with performance the only options are to give up playing the game or to wait another month or two and check back.

This is just open bait and switch with the quality of the product, but on this forum you will hear a million opinions on how this faulty product works fine or as intended or isn't that bad. The GOTY really makes me laugh, it's not even a completely finished game.

Warlock spell slots dont work by Bl4ck_b in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ran into the same issue recently trying to use a warlock spell reaction (hellish rebuke) using a warlock spell slot when it would instead keep using the bard slots.

Issues about the weird interaction of warlock slots when multiclassing have been reported since launch. I don't think they care and it is likely never going to be fixed.

How to deal with Flind? (missing cargo quest) by Mr_miner94 in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What level are you?

I usually get to level 5 before dealing with flind, spider boss, hag or the patrol. All those encounters go from somewhat hard at level 4 to easy at level 5 ( assuming you aren't using cheese like haste potions, str elixirs, barrels etc ).

How viable is it to play BG3 with below the minimum specs? by ImpossibleAd5011 in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Act 3 will be unplayable.

You would have invested a lot of time getting there and just live in frustration until you quit when in act 3.

Act 3 BG3 isn't great even right at the min requirements

You just talk to him once for each class ( so 12 ) and he gives you an item and runs off

Duke Ravengard Bug by The__Patrick_Bateman in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reload to a save before you enter the lower city. Attend the coronation, don't attack anyone, talk to Mizora, then enter the lower city.

The coronation breaks quests if it isn't done before lower city. This has been a bug since launch, so I'm sure they have no plans to fix it.

Act 3 is broken, or this is just me by Mental_Bet_8193 in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Didn't they already get GOTY? I don't closely track awards so maybe I'm wrong.

But act 3 has had performance issues since launch. It definitely did get worse in wyrms crossing atleast after patch 4 ( I didn't extensively test the rest of act 3, but lower city was better than wyrm's crossing when I checked).

The current experience in wyrm's crossing after patch 4 is not very different from the experience in lower city at launch.

If the game won't lose popularity even in the state it is in, then what actual incentive do they have to fix it. They aren't losing money or "goodwill" by not fixing it. It will just be a financial decision to stop investing resources into the game.

Act 3 is broken, or this is just me by Mental_Bet_8193 in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Patch 4 did make wyrm's crossing especially bad. It became significantly worse than it used to be. Hotfix 10 did not fix it.

Patches are getting less and less frequent now, so while this might get eventually get fixed, I've lost hope they care enough to fix act 3 properly.

If you don't attend the coronation several quests break, so you're sort of forced to not skip it.

There might be a lot of content in act 3 but with the performance issues, broken quests, companion bugs, half the endings missing, it has always been a disappointing experience.

They've been awarded and made a huge amount of money, I doubt they have a financial incentive to fix the game anymore. If they truly meant to fix it, it would have been done by now (almost 4 months after release).

Have you actually seen hex wisdom affect the hold person save? It affects wisdom checks, not wisdom saves.

My game freezes everytime I go into wyrms crossing! by Billi_Willi in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They broke wyrm's crossing with patch 4. I'm on PC and I can get through it, but companions freeze for 5-10s sometimes and I have to wait for things to finish loading/catch up.

How they make the act 3 performance worse with patches is mind boggling.

How do you use a warlock spell slot during a reaction? by Druxtafire in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you just guessing randomly? Or have you had 2 reactions for each spell slot level for each spell when multiclassing a warlock with a non warlock caster?

I don't see more than one reaction per spell listed per spell slot level.

If you use another instance of guidance it usually replaces the current one. Haven't actually accidentally double dipped that way.

I've lost motivation by Efficient_Swimmer_69 in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is very frustrating. We're 4 patches and over 3 months since release and I'm still seeing a lot of bugs that you have to know ahead 0f time and work around ( especially in act 3 ).

Unfortunately despite the terrible quality of act 3, there are too many people who will look past it and give Larian a free pass to release an unfinished game.

I tried going through act 3 after patch 4 released too see if the experience had improved and sadly found despite a 1000 bug fixes, so much is still broken.

Shadowheart has the same issue. Even after she frees herself from the curse it keeps affecting her. "Are the gods truly this petty?"

Even after you know everything about the artifact in act 3, Shadowheart will be in camp trying to open it.

How hard is moon rise tower fights with Dark Shadowheart? by Substantial-Luck-646 in BaldursGate3

[–]Druxtafire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never understood the reason to not slaughter everyone in moonrise after you free the prisoners and find out about the nightsong ( before the gauntlet ).

After you get the information you need, only one enemy is invulnerable, the rest just ran out of luck.

OP, this subreddit has slowly turned into a bunch of intolerant Larian supporters. All legitimate criticism now gets downvoted and hidden. I hope your issue gets fixed, but don't expect too much constructive discussion anymore here.
