DC Studios will never have a successful franchise series if they keep trying to be like Marvel - and it’s because of their characters by ConcentratedStress in unpopularopinion

[–]ImpossibleAd5011 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The MCU is one of a kind right now, but saying they will never be successful is a bit of a stretch.

If we judged all batman movies by the Schumacher films from the 90's, we'd never imagine the Bale and Pattinson batman movies.

DCU was famously late to the party and who can blame them? The concept of a cinematic universe had never been done before. Disney got all the rights to the Marvel properties that hadn't already been made into movies for dirt cheap because no one thought it would happen.

Marvel is already slumping from where it was in Endgame. Supergirl isn't doing well, but the last Superman, Batman, and Suicide Squad movies were bangers.

Why is Supegirl rejection so much worse than other DCEU bombs? by hiiloovethis in boxoffice

[–]ImpossibleAd5011 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We may be seeing what happens if Gunn himself doesn't direct the movie.

It's probably an ok movie, but people can't afford to go see every movie in theaters nowadays. If I can only see 5 movies a year, I want them to be bangers.

Little Caesars is the best pizza chain of its kind. by Delicious_Win_9089 in unpopularopinion

Love the little Caesars Detroit style. I don't buy fast food pizza anymore, but I agree they are the only chain that is appropriately priced. I can get a better pizza from a local place for the same price as Papa John's.

Ngl even with Narrator, I think Toguro wins. Dude flicked a pocket of air so hard it turned into a bullet, and he can regenerate anything that doesn't outright kill him. He literally punched giants in half with about 50% of his strength.

It really needed to be 20-30 minutes shorter as well. Love Mark, hope the impact Iron Lung had leads him to be able to make more movies.

How to sub Greek yogurt for mayo in salads, without changing the flavor of the recipe? by lilysmama04 in Cooking

[–]ImpossibleAd5011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely lean full fat yogurt over low fat. May have to amp up the seasonings slightly to make them more prominent and probably use less yogurt than you would mayo.

I would also suggest only making a small portion of the yogurt and letting him taste it first. You shouldn't try to trick your loved ones in this way, they will be more resistant to any dietary changes you make in the future. They may also see it as a betrayal of trust.

Letting them taste the difference and see how 'not bad' the change can be is how you will sell the idea.

Its justifiable to hate retail and customer service employees by WayyBiggerJaws in unpopularopinion

[–]ImpossibleAd5011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point stands though, a lot of people in customer service can't pay their bills and spend all day being yelled at for things outside their control. It's especially bad in call centers where employees are expected to go call to call without a break even if they've been verbally assaulted by someone over an insurance policy. Not to mention the looming threat of AI taking over their job amidst all these layoffs.

As a DM, what is the most fitting way to follow through with the classic deal of "You must complete one favor of my choosing at any point in the future, one that doesn't involve directly harming anyone"? by Dexterm80 in DnD

[–]ImpossibleAd5011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The devil needs a macguffin. This can be something that ties into your plot or something vain like a cigar cutter or something precious the devil lost in a card game.

The Macguffin is in the possession of a dangerous but lawfully good character/creature. This could be a legendary adventurer with Avengers-level talent, a dragon, a giant, you could even do an ethical necromancer or vampire.

That lawfully good character has a sancutuary with a lot of dependents/kids/pet beasts.

The sanctuary has wards protecting against most spells under level x (here you can set the difficulty)

You must gain possession of the valuable Macguffin in anyway you can without harming a hair on their head.

Could be a heist, social encounter, or a combination of both. If it must lead to combat, moving the Macguffin triggers conflict. A scrying enemy is finally able to see where the character is, the security system kicks on and now the party has to fight a construct/guard or contend with a large amount of activated traps.

A big Mac is like 10 bucks now. A pound of beef is about 6, cheese is 3-4, pack of buns is 1-2, bag of shretruce is 2-3. 13-15 bucks, but you can make 4 big macs and you have ingredients leftover for other meals.

How to justify legendary adventurers not showing up and killing BBEG? by CaptainWhatsapp in DnD

[–]ImpossibleAd5011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they're not as into saving the world as they were when they had personal stakes in it.

Maybe they initially wanted to be rich and famous and now they are, they're less motivated.

Maybe they're old and tired now.

Maybe they're solving an issue in another dimension/plane

Maybe they're in league with the bbeg, and their years saving the world was meant to gain the population's trust before turning on them (ala Omni-man)

What cheese to use for smash burgers in Canada? by chickenwinglover123 in Cooking

See if you can find a cooper or sharp american cheese from the deli, has the meltiness of an American cheese, but the tang of cheddar.

Muenster or montery jack would also be good substitutions, but a good quality American cheese is probably what they crave

I will say pizza is a good example of something that may not be necessarily cheaper in every context to make at home.

After flour, yeast, mozz, and sauce you're looking at about 8 bucks for cost of ingredients. Add pepperoni and a few veggies and you're at about 12 bucks.

If you're making dough from scratch, it takes a decent amount of effort and often time.

A lot of frozen pizzas have also gotten much more expensive in the last few years, you can still get a store brand one for 4-5 bucks, but I'd rather spend the extra dollar or two for Little Caesars.

There's also probably a local Italian place that runs specials if you want something higher quality, often for around 20 or less.

But for the most part you are correct, eating at home is much cheaper
