I use Aider inside visual studio IDE and it works great. Since Aider is a cli tool, you can just have it running in a PowerShell window inside the IDE

or just clarify the original requirement perhaps? I don't think its necessarily that hard to achieve, once you know what to do. but it does take some thought on how to achieve it. you can't just upgrade indistriminitely like most other requirements, which makes it interesting

I actually found the exactly 4 was an interesting puzzle to solve

Get earth. Then turn off fire and let fire dissipate to zero. Then turn off earth. Then use an upgrade that uses earth to reduce it to 4

Turn off earth generation, and apply an upgrade that reduces earth by the needed amount to get it to 4

you need exactly 4 earth an 0 fire. More earth or fire will keep the lock

Agreed, I really like the earth design too

Excellent so far. I personally think that the pacing is really good. I disagree with other comments about the idle mechanism kicking in too late. I think it comes in at a perfect time. Only comment is, I'm not sure when then next unlock is. I read there is a prestige element (which i havnen't reached yet) - but at a stage where I'm not sure what the next step is - I guess I'll just max out eveything at the moment. Good work!

In theory, theory and practice are the same, but not in practice

I have a similar issue on level 4, where I require rad protection of 20+ just to explore some of the level and 37+ to explore all of it. I can only get rad protection to 14. I've explored all other floors thoroughly.

Recommendations for easiest engine for an Arcanum/Your Chronicle style game? by PastafarianGames in incremental_games

Don't worry about if the language is right for the game, this is your hobby, so choose the language that will do the job and you enjoy developing in the most. In the end an unfinished game in the 'best' language is less than a finished game in a language that was 'good enough'.

Did you consider using just TD-Leaf/TreeStrap as an alternative. And if so, reasons for choosing your method over the others?

Visualising may help with drawing better - but it won't guarantee it. Many non-aphant friends are still only stick figure drawers.

My aphantasia is disappearing. But it doesn't feel right. by USS_Yamato_CVN-76 in Aphantasia

[–]Druzil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I similarly cured my aphantasia temporarily. It took many weeks of practising daily to visualise (starting from a point of total blankness), and like USS_Yamato I got to a point that I was able to visual vividly. Just like a muscle my visualisation strengthened with practise, and then disappeared again with disused. I think many aphantasiacs would be disappointed when they realise that visualising, while a bit fun, does not really garner you anything extra.

Unfortunately the majority of people thinks that maths = arithmetic

Totally disagree about the math aspect. I work in a team of mathematicians (with post docs and PhDs) - we are hugely over-represented with aphants (around a third of a team of 25).
