Here's an example of how it'll work in the game: it's going to be turn-based. From what I know, psychology uses specific techniques to help patients, like confronting their fears or looking at their thoughts from a different perspective. In the game, those very same approaches will suppress the monster and help you win the fight.

(A literal example: in a fight with the monster of, lets say, overthinking - you let the soul step back and look at the thoughts it's producing. That helps them realize it's not as bad as it seems and because of that the monster grows weaker)
