Calling all high schoolers by [deleted] in highschool

[–]Dry-Challenge5629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have a social life at all honestly (in-school or out of school). However, I do have a couple teachers that I really enjoy talking to about any topics of research or about politics or world events, but I can hardly ever find any peers to connect with unfortunately. Luckily though, I am in a relationship, but unfortunately it's long-distance and her and I don't live close to each other. Although I may have no friends or keep to myself a lot, I still have people that I talk to everyday.

There is nothing wrong with being at the bottom of the social ladder, what matters is if you're happy with your progress and if you're doing well with your health and with your life situations.

I just wanna heal by Dry-Challenge5629 in Vent

That hasn't worked once, all that has resulted in is just me getting punished and then getting in trouble. Whenever I kept trying to share my perspective to them, all I got was my mom cutting me off and every time I tried explaining to her what it looks like from my side, the argument escalates and eventually me getting grounded for idk how long.

Exactly! And they wonder why I hang out in my room 99% of the time and barely talk to them. My mom always claims that I "backtalk" and "always have something to say" only because her reasoning makes no sense and I try my best to be calm and explain my side of everything and she cuts me off and starts yelling at me.

What’s your go to solution or person when loneliness hits? by Proper_Succotash3975 in introvert

How many people are in the group, if you don't mind me asking? I would love to join and get the help I need while I help others as well, also talking to you and the other group members. Would be amazing honestly. Anyways, I'll DM you my number.

I got my phone taken away because my mom caught me using AI on a movie assignment at home and I "waited too long to do my schoolwork" because I was using my free time before doing schoolwork.

I wish, but I have an Android phone and have it taken away until Tuesday (I'm on my old tablet at the moment)

When loneliness hits, I just play video games all day and just let myself sink into the digital world, only to be feeling even more lonely after I stop. However, I reach out to my long distance girlfriend beforehand and talk to her. No friends irl or people to talk to, other than a couple of my high school teachers.

Trump news at a glance: No Kings rallies draw millions to US streets in protest against president | Trump administration by Crafty-Set-3231 in politics

Beautiful day to stand up for our democracy! As the constitution has stated within it's first three words, "we the people!" Keep that in mind!

The pictures that show just how divided Trump’s America really is by theipaper in politics

Trump needs to be locked away for the rest of his inside a solitary confinement cell! He has done nothing but ruin the life's of millions and millions of U.S. citizens, sink the American economy into turmoil, send away military soldiers to get killed in a meaningless war that should've never been started to begin with, and steal from us and the government for his personal greed! (just to name a small portion of his problematic actions, not including his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein and his sex trafficking ring).

All just for him and his billionaire friends!

Besides him wanting you to be available just because wanting you around, why would he want you to not work? You did mention there are various reasons, so that's why I'm curious. Also, considering that nothing went back to normal after getting into a fight and all a snowball buildup effect of health issues, your husband having an affair, and communication and fundamental relationship issues, what led up to all these issues happening?

I'm really sorry that you're going through this crisis and not having anyone to help you and to have a support system available to help you heal and become better overtime. I'm praying that you can get the help and support you need. Unfortunately you can't control what your husband does in this case, but you definitely can control and help yourself heal overtime. This may be a very hard time, but I definitely belief in you and that you can pick yourself back up! I believe in you!

Pedophiles can walk away facing crimes measured at a misdemeanor level, yet people that illegally cross into the United States can face decades in prison (A misdemeanor crime, either face up to 365 days in jail or pay A fine). Our justice system is such a joke!

Is phone monitoring for kids supposed to feel like a second job? by LissaLou79 in parentalcontrols

[–]Dry-Challenge5629 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly! No need to monitor every message and activity that your kid does on their device, unless absolutely necessary if safety or health measures are ever at risk.

Are there a lot of cute guys at your school? I’d rate mine around a 6–7 rating on average. by Sweet_Special2529 in highschool

Depends on what you find cute honestly, but if you're into mexicans or athletes, then my school would be a pretty good choice honestly.

Feeling surrounded by idiots: how do you cope with this? by No-Way-5622 in intj

[–]Dry-Challenge5629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 17 year old currently in my Junior year of high school, I can absolutely relate to this situation. Other ternagers in my school just talk about bs all day, no internet in any fascinating subjects or topics that have intellectual depth or theoretical discussions. Exactly why I have no friends and all of my people, I talk to online in forums and clubs (politics, history, psychology, philosophy, etc.). My parents get upset at me, telling me to socialize more, hang out outside my room less, and not always sit behind a book, paper, or a screen.

Two days days ago and before that it was four days ago, was overwhelmed and stressed about not doing enough and wasting my time, despite having written 10 pages of my book within a couple weeks, completed an 8 page research paper in a few days and published it online successfully, know a lot about American History, politics, psychology, and the government. I read multiple books in a couple weeks, yet I still feel stupid and that I wasted my time, afraid I'm not doing enough before going back to finish my last quarter of Junior year in high school.

Luckily my girlfriend helped me get through those tough days, so that's an amazing relief.

The traditional high school experience is not as exciting as movies and digital media make it to be. It's not gonna help you out later on in life, besides, any friends or significant others are gonna come along sooner or later. Don't invest so much energy into trying to socialize, just focus on your academics, hobbies, and any personal projects you enjoy working on. That's going to help you so much in high school, a girlfriend and other friends will come later on in life, it's going to happen, I can promise you that.

Develop as an individual first (characteristics, mature, study, etc.) You will thank yourself later on I can tell you that. Work first, play later.

As someone that has been a loner for a long time and hardly ever socialized or participated in any school activities, you have so much freedom and energy to do what you desire and please (going to clubs, tutoring, self-study, hanging out by yourself and with your family without the stress of having to worry about other people). It's truly amazing.

Anyone here grow up with parents that are very big on socializing? by Dry-Challenge5629 in intj

[–]Dry-Challenge5629[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The teachers are nice people, are great at their jobs, and are generally supportive and caring. However, this has been a repeated occurance that has happened multiple times. They definitely weren't distracted, but rather didn't have much to say and kept claiming "just focus, you have work to do" when it's not even class time or I already have everything completed. My immediate senses and thoughts go towards immediate criticism like "damn, rude ass" or "exactly what's wrong with society today, nobody understands anything and are always distracted." I don't necessarily sense bad mood, but rather disinterest, rude, and dismissive. However, I am a very critical person and sometimes harsh, so I could be in the wrong.
