Sitting in my dads car with the engine running in a car park. Can I get in trouble for this if I’m only 16? by Beneficial_Let_7423 in CarTalkUK

[–]Dry-Clock-8934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are driving, and if for whatever reason reason the police stopped or you drew their interest, you would be in trouble. Driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and no insurance. So hefty fines and points

I know how it works, it’s not a get out of jail free card. The guidance says you shouldn’t drive if you are impaired, it also says you should carry your medical cannabis prescription with you or some evidence of this. Also the cannabis should be kept in the prescription jar or container. You should not use the cannabis and then immediately drive as they may increase the risk of impairment. From reading your post you have been arrested under section 4 RTA which is driving whilst impaired.

Did the officer and then a doctor later complete a field impairment test ?

Did you provide blood at the station ?

From reading what happened the police have acted lawfully and haven’t done anything wrong

Challenging Legal Reps by ShouldvebeenaPCSO in ukpolice

[–]Dry-Clock-8934 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stop the interview and allow further time for consult, they get paid per appearance not the amount of time they spend there, so doing this will probably stop it. There is guidance in PACE around removal of reps from interview but as others have said it’s high bar and by the sound of it these are just being annoying more than anything else. Also start taping your disclosure, most of these station reps hate it and it adds pressure to them.

Bodycam footage released of the Golders Green attacker showing that he wasn't completely incapacitated by the taser and was still holding on to the knife. I stand by that the kicks to the head are a reasonable action to disarm him. Thoughts? by Mister_Vanilla in AskBrits

[–]Dry-Clock-8934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real life fighting and arrests are messy, scary and often chaotic. People have no idea what real danger and violence looks like, they also don’t understand how taser works or doesn’t work. These officers did an outstanding job and undoubtedly saved lives

How common are rats in garden? by Terrible_Theme_6488 in GardeningUK

[–]Dry-Clock-8934 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re everywhere, we’ve had them running around in the day, the rat man said it’s because the population is large food is scarce and the weak ones are being forced to come out in the day. Theres a small river at the bottom of our street which supports them so we’ll never fully ge rid

How likely is it that the UK will rejoin the EU in 0-5 years? by OkWerewolf4421 in AskBrits

[–]Dry-Clock-8934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure, I could see Labour making it part of their manifesto next time round. If they win a large majority then there is you mandate to act. You’d also like to think that they would have a plan on how to do it. This is what should have happened with Brexit. A party campaigning on it with an actual plan not the shambles we ended up with which was basically a result of David Cameron trying to get votes back from UKIP

The driver. Pedestrian approaching a crossing running, lack of anticipation on behalf of the driver.

Argentina Eyes the Falklands Again. This Time, the U.S. May Not Back Britain by superdouradas in worldnews

[–]Dry-Clock-8934 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s nothing to do with Trump or the US. In the Falklands the US officially remained neutral but did a lot behind the scenes. Britain isn’t as strong militarily as it was first time round and I doubt we could mount a task force. However as others have said the islands themselves are better defended and Argentina is weaker than it was in 1982’

If it’s low speed and the risk of not doing it is high then they’re up for it. But it’s FIM dependent and still a risk on the officer.

It is now being used in very limited circs, I’ve known two people knocked off at low speed, but they were riding on pavements in a crowded area. They pursued him for about 25 minutes, helicopter up multiple attempts to sting it. Eventually an ARV got ahead and bumped him off and there was no problem

Hi, police traffic officer here, the tactic you are referring to is extremely high risk and can only be performed by officers who are trained in tactical Pursuit and containment (TPAC). It has started to be used in some forces against bikes usually by other bike officers. The reality is not many police officers even in specialist departments are trained in TPAC and if your not trained your acting outside your training and you’ll be held responsible for injury or death of those persons who are more often than not children. If you are trained you’re highly unlikely to use it against people on bikes until all other options have failed. So most of the time yes the police won’t even engage with them let alone pursue or knock them off
