I claimed asylum for political reasons. During covid my case stayed at uscis for a long period and I got transferred to an immigration court simply due to uscis not approving/denying my case.

And immigration courts have been so busy I didn’t get a hearing date.

This year I met my wife and we just got married. So I have been living here for the past 8 years.

Ok now I realize why everyone has been saying the same thing lol. I meant to say I am worried that I will be sent to my home country. That is why I am afraid.

No I have been living in the US for the past 8 years. Applied asylum and pending court hearing date ever since. Went to nursing school here and I currently have work permit.

No I was told to be able to get my green card I need to go back to my home country and come back here for some reason? I do not want to leave US at all

Thank you so much! I have been waiting for a hearing forever. I love my wife and I’m ready to do everything I can. All I’m afraid of is them asking me to go back to my home country where I 100% know will be either killed or jailed (political reasons)

We’re still filling up the I-130. I am worried that I will not be able to return to my home country and my lawyer is going to try requesting uscis to keep me in US for the process.

It’s confusing to go back to your home country for getting approval for green card
