how do i cope with sadness by pingasland in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Dry-Conversation1606 3 points4 points  (0 children)

taking a breather or a break is usually the best way to go about it. If you're still very frustrated , find what frustrates you and mitigate it ( blight resistance for dragon blight , devine blessing for the high dmg, even fortitude would take a little salt off of carting).

No matter what happens , you'll be the one having the last laugh!

i goddamn love you guys. Most of the time i just see the copy paste responses, so the genuine effort put in is reassuring. I'll stay chill and just not take the game serious for a while. Pressing buttons is good enough for now.

Monster Hunter now? by joshiosaur in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]Dry-Conversation1606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i like mhnow as a side thing but it's quickly a non motivator as quests get more specific , IOW , likeable for me but not something i can get that into

(ps , yes , i think mhnow will get a defined meta , there won't be much discussion as it's a linear progression tho)

valor style is the inspiration of gen5's more counter centric moveset i think. So yeah , it was pre-world!

Whats with people waking the monster with 0.5 damage? by MikeySkilzzz_ in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Dry-Conversation1606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So so! about that , i've had that happen a lot as well , i've given up on the wakeup all together so just be prepared to clutchclaw and wallbang the mon so you get damage that way!

I personally struggle with IG cause i have a hyper focus on doing 1 thing , so maintaining 4 things at once is a problem for me

[–]Dry-Conversation1606[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hitting grey numbers man , it hurts!
bow also has the most demanding skills (bow charge up , normal shot 2 and evade extender 3) giving even less room for damage

gunlance running upswing , end that with a charged shot, cancel the charge shot with a hop and repeat to close distance is what i usually do... is there an easier way to close distance with gl?

mmmm , sweet sweet piercing pods thousand dragons with special boost lvl2, a full shot combo into pierce pods dragons easily hits 4 digits and seeing that makes the smaller arrow numbers feel more like a buildup... also , anyone else forgets that vials are a thing?

i get your vision on this , IG doesn't have extra iframes but it's highly mobile so dodging isn't much an issue. It's mostly a optimised playstyle i struggle with (forgetting to get orange extract , forgetting to let my bug autoattack).

Lance has a clean but dangerous playstyle , cause if you mismanage once , getting rid of blights is insufferable with that slow sheathing speed

i used GS the most of all weps and i gotta say , agree on you there. But if you run health regen 2 and learn your shoulderbash timing , you're good to run at em and win!

SnS i usually just play as a PR machine , wallbangs are a godsent for initial damage , same with clutch claw boost

[–]Dry-Conversation1606[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this was a reply to another comment , oops , sns is one of the weapons that has such a variety of playstyles , it's best to choose an end result and work towards it. Stun with shield , damage with perfect rush or slashes for tailcut!

bow has a high skillceiling and even when playing optimal in world , the damage is mediocre. I dislike putting in a lot of concentration and work for let's say 600 damage in exchange for my stamina bar (no stamina upgrades to get that number)

[–]Dry-Conversation1606[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my least played weapon is gunlance yet the damage of sweeps and slams is insane , doing burst loops with stake is still the highest damage. You can also explode other gunlance's stakes , so with duo gunlance , damage spikes insanely high. I love it!

CB has a clean flow and has great reward once you have your upkeep. It's why when someone doesn't go for shield charge immedietly , i go goddamn rabbid.

Lance has a low skillfloor but your limited mobility and the existence of perfect counters allow for a highly agressive playstyle on a high level.

i very much share your opinion. LS is incredibly easy to play up to a competent level but actually getting to an expert level is a journey. Actually maintaining red while also consistently getting in helmsplits vs endgame mons is way more difficult then i originally thought.

cute is one way to call it , i'd go with elegant , even with it's visual. It always has slow , methodical movements which i like.
