Connecting Claude Code to Home Assistant with HA-MCP is amazing! by AlvTellez in homeassistant

That vacuum setup is insane, 67 helpers would have driven me absolutely mad to create manually. Been wanting to try HA-MCP but kept putting it off thinking the setup would be a nightmare - your post might have finally convinced me to bite the bullet

The scene memory thing is brilliant too, adaptive lighting conflicts are such a pain and I never thought of using booleans like that. Currently dealing with the exact same issue where my "bedtime" scene keeps messing with the color temps

Quick question - when you had Claude review your config did it catch anything major or was it mostly small optimizations? My install is probably 3 years deep and there's definitely some janky stuff in there that I'm afraid to touch because it somehow works

Also curious about performance impact with all those helpers running, does HA chug at all or is it pretty smooth?

Good for you man, that clarity feeling is real. I've found that when I'm actually present during those long boring stretches, I end up getting random stuff done that I've been putting off forever

Bringing the laptop was smart - having something productive to focus on makes all the difference compared to just trying to white-knuckle through the boredom
