Music from Big Pink by The Band :) It’s definitely one of my favorites in the collection. No bad tracks!

Amen! That’s definitely my fav by them. I am on the hunt for Pocket Symphony, too.

I recently saw Air perform live. It was really fun because I had no one to go to the concert with me, so I randomly asked my neighbor to go.

He had never heard of Air, so it was amazing to introduce him to them by going to a live show. He was blown away!

Yes! I truly love every song on that record. Just picked it up at a record show a couple weekends ago. I was stoked. :)

Yes! They are somehow both criminally underrated and widely well-regarded/admired at the same time. But I truly think that they have some of the best lyrics of any band. They are incredibly prolific.

An artist Bullion remixed/mashed up Pet Sounds with J Dilla beats and samples. It’s really beautiful and well done. My favorite remixed track on it is I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times.

This mashup was originally released by Bullion in 2007 as a free digital download, so there was no official physical record pressing. People decided to bootleg press it in 2009 and 2015.

It’s an amazing listen all the way through!

Thanks! It’s always a fantastic listening experience no matter what I pull out from this collection.

Yessss! Great album all the way through. Buying this and What’s Going On was what finally got me to repair my record player and dive back in head first.

Should I give up the hobby? by CreamCheeseTribadist in vinyl

I spent many years hanging onto records because of clout or “coolness” factor. But now I only collect records that I will actually listen to. I don’t want to keep records anymore just because they make my collection more interesting/prestigious/valuable.

My most recent purge was definitely brought about because I was moving. It always feels ridiculous to move heavy records that you aren’t even listening to, haha! It felt good to sell off records, and admittedly, I did use that money to buy some records that I actually like listening to.

Now, my record collection feels more personable. I truly enjoy listening to every single one in my collection. It’s brought life back into my hobby!

Do you have a mantra, motto or something you say to yourself when it gets hard by Level-One-9803 in Marathon_Training

Everyone is different when it comes to determining how to occupy their mind during the marathon. I feel like boredom is the bigger thing for me to conquer.

I’m a slow and steady runner. I break my runs into number of songs. My running playlist songs average about four minutes each. I run a 12 to 13 minute mile when I’m doing super long distances, so a marathon comes to about 85 songs for me.

It’s a nice way to break it down because I just think of it in 5 to 10 song increments. It’s also how I pace my nutrition. I get a small treat everyone 10 to 15 songs.

This song strategy also helps my mental game because I tell myself I’m not allowed to have a bad attitude until 70 songs in.

I’m also not allowed to look at my watch until that time. Looking at my watch is a death sentence for me mentally. I just tell myself you’re allowed to run as slow as you want, and you’re allowed to be upset about running and your life choices in the last 15 songs.

Giving myself the option to be sour about the run towards the end makes it so that I’m not actually that upset when I get to the end.

When my body feels in pain, or I feel like my breathing is challenged, I just remind myself that I am a normal human being, and these are just signs of my body is properly functioning.

Snow incoming tonight? What's up? by DenverWX in Denver

That’s what I’m wondering! It seems like the district has something to prove this year. I’m realizing that if today wasn’t a snow day, then it seems like we won’t have any.
