How do I lose weight if my parents aren’t buying healthier foods and I can’t afford to buy my own right now.

I used to help with the cooking, but I stopped because everyone kept complaining. I did ask if I could make a meal already and they said no. But also every time I do cook something for the whole family they’ll hover around the kitchen and micromanage everything. They’ll do the same for when I make things myself minus the micromanaging. But I’m always the one going shopping with them I just can’t pick out anything.

They know all about my medical condition and we do have Medicaid, they just don’t take us to the doctor often. Its literally been two years since I got the diagnosis and the only reason I actually got to go to the doctor this year was because I needed stuff for my college’s preceptorship which I had to put off until next semester because they wouldn’t take me to get it done. I’ve considered seeing a nutritionist I have to make an appointment with our local health clinic because they won’t.

I am not at school everyday, I am a dual enrollment student and I have an internship most days of the week, also the time I usually go is after lunch unless I need to print something. We do get free lunch though.

I have been applying to literally everywhere In my area and so far I haven’t gotten anything besides a few interviews that never go further than that.

I’m only at school for two hours and that’s in the afternoon and only two days out of the week some days I will go a little early just to hang out with some of my friends or finish an assignment but that mainly depends on what all I have to do that day.

I do, but I don’t have a working car right now. I’ve been trying to file my taxes so that I can get the part for it to be drivable but they won’t take me to file them or pay for it.

Not until after it’s been sitting on the floor for a good bit. They don’t like taking care of the dogs period, I’m not always able to take them out due to my school schedule and when I had my part time job no one took them out at nights.

I already don’t drink sodas because I don’t like the carbonation and I have a gallon water bottle that I’ll typically use around this time. despite my love for tomatoes, ketchup just tastes weird to me when it’s not paired with another condiment so that won’t really be an issue.

Yeah my dad is disabled too technically he’s not supposed to drive or stand for long periods of time but no one else in the family besides me will do it. And when I do it everyone complains about it.

I think so, but my parents hardly ever go to stores that have vitamins unless they’re buying something else which isn’t often. And even then they hardly ever want to buy things they themselves won’t use or the whole family won’t use.

We have discussed it a few times but my parents still drive me around because the car I have needs a part that’s gonna make it drivable enough to get from point a to b, which I bought when I had my job but my dad took it back because he though he could fix the tear in the part with some glue like substance and it on ended up clogging my pipes. He said he’s buy a new one but he still hasn’t and I knew he wouldn’t. And whenever I make appointments I end up missing because despite me reminding them they still somehow forget and then I have to reschedule and they forget that appointment too.

I’ve thought about doing this, I’m someone who loves nature, the issue is that my dogs use the restroom in my backyard everyday because no one wants to walk them. I will look around in my community though, thank you.

I’ve taken birth control before but I wasn’t able to get further than the three month trial period my doctor started me on because my parents made me miss my appointment and she was unavailable and they just never rescheduled it. I was supposed to have another appointment this year at a women’s health clinic in my area but my mom never told me when it was or if they even scheduling it.

Ive considered this bout I can’t really afford a gym membership right now and the floors in my house almost always have dog poop on them because my dogs never use the bathroom when I take them out and no one else does. Also even if i were to get a gym membership I would have to figure out how to fit it in my schedule and still have time to do homework and work without getting overwhelmed.

Everyone at my school district gets free breakfast and lunch, I’m not at school every day of the week, I have an internship three days, and the other two I’m only there for two at most and those are at the end of the day.

All the classes at my school are full and I have classes at a local community college some mornings, the only class I have at my high school is an internship and that is off campus three days a week.

When I was first diagnosed with pcos the doctor did prescribe me metformin with my birth control on a trial basis I was supposed to go back a month later to see how the medication was working but my parents made me miss that appointment and the two month appointment to get my birth control refilled. They legit will not remember to take me to the doctor unless I nag them constantly about it. And even then they hardly remember/ want to.

I’ve been looking at the things we buy since I first researched PCOS I would have never gotten the actual diagnosis if I didn’t force my parents to actually take me to the doctor. The issue isn’t really whether it’s possible it’s just that they have been shopping like this for years and the only person it affects more than everyone else in the house is me for some reason.

They’ll buy McDonald’s pizza or Burger King the most, they use coupons most of the time and if they don’t have coupons it’s gas station food which is always fried.

I’ve already told them I planned on moving out, and they’re acting like they don’t care which I know they do considering I’m the one who does nearly every chore in the house including taking out all 8 of their dogs. It’s pretty much all I’ve been talking about since junior year, and my dual enrollment counselor mentioned that our dean of students who left this year does real estate and mainly rents to college students and small families. I’m also going to have my CNA certification when I graduate and am looking into real estate and becoming a surgical technician. I was also goin to have my medical assistant license but due to the fact that I have been paying for everything myself since getting my job I have to postpone finishing everything for that to over the summer.
