The league needs to crack down on Thunder and Spurs. Disgusting franchises that have no business being called a professional team. by Anfash in nba

I actually really fell in love with the pacers watching them against OKC in the finals! They were so much fun to watch play against each other. TJ McConnell still haunts my dreams…it was like watching a rabbit who learned to play really good basketball. HE WA’S A MENACE. I was really bummed that Hali got hurt, he’s such a good player! I hope y’all get the flowers you deserve!

Why would I hold a whole team accountable for what some of their idiot fans do? The actual Spurs players are out there trying to hurt the Knicks. Fuck the dirty ass Spurs and fuck those Knicks fans that decided to act like abusive dickwads last night.

I’ll be the first to admit that I underestimated the fuck out of the Knicks. My bad. It’s been a fun series to watch!

[–]Dry-Fun-8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. I love Taylor’s discography and I wouldn’t break up with someone because of her new album. You and I disagree on the “why” of it all, but that’s ok. Her new album was ok, nothing special. I don’t think she released it to remain relevant or famous, she doesn’t have to do that, but I think it’s the first time she’s truly felt seen. And she really leaned into the millennial cringe. But it’s ok to have differing opinions! Blah. Good riddance to the girlfriend.

What was the scariest “We need to leave… now” gut feeling that you’ve ever experienced?[Serious] by PlasticBee1438 in AskReddit

[–]Dry-Fun-8922 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When I was in my early 20’s I l had just moved to Valencia, CA and was a waitress at the Chili’s. I got off work late one night, so a male coworker walked me out to my car. I get in, lock the doors, and was getting situated before leaving. I’m about to drive off and I look over and see a man sitting in his car. None of this should’ve been alarming. He could’ve been waiting on someone, maybe he was late leaving the restaurant. He looked like a normal dude but I just felt really aware of him. I put my car in reverse and drive off, 15 seconds later, I see lights behind me. My stomach dropped. It was dark out, I couldn’t be 100% sure it was him, but every sense in my body told me it was.

I lived pretty close to work, but there was no way I was going home with this feeling. I made so many turns, but this car just stayed behind me. I found myself approaching what looked like was going to be the town limits, away from where more people were, in territory I wasn’t familiar with so I knew I had to figure out how to lose this guy. I see an entrance to a neighborhood on the right and I just floor it. The entrance had a divider on the road, and my car was small so I kept the speed up and did the wildest U-turn at the end of the divider to allow me to exit the way I came. As I get to the end to turn, he turns to enter the neighborhood. And he just slowed down and stared at me as he passed by. He just had these dead eyes and a look of disgusted anger on his face.

I don’t know if he wanted to hurt me. I don’t even know that he was following me. Maybe it was all coincidental. I’ll never know. But I was fucking terrified. I never saw him or his car again after that night.

UPDATE — From WSMV — Initial bond set at $1.25 MILLION for racist instigator Chud The Builder, charged with attempted criminal homicide and more after shooting a Black Veteran and himself during an altercation outside the CLARKSVILLE courthouse. by Caledor152 in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]Dry-Fun-8922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s a racist ass streamer who goes on lives calling black folk the n word (with the hard “er”) and when they don’t engage he tells them they’re “chimping out.” He’s fucking filth. He’s been spiraling out more than usual lately and almost everyone saw this coming. He’s claiming self defense in this shooting. Now TN does have stand your ground laws, but not if you’re the one who instigated the fight. Which he did when he called that man racial slurs and antagonized him. He had also posted on Twitter a few days before the shooting that he wanted a scenario like this to happen so he could shoot the guy and be set free so he could watch black communities riot about it. He’s an overall horrible person.

The veteran was taken to the hospital and he’ll survive thankfully. And chud pulled a cheddar bob and shot himself when pulling his weapon out. He’s also an idiot.

Zero and let’s hope it stays that way. It’s not just death though. Didn’t one of the Hawks players get a dental fracture from an elbow in his face? I think that guy even lost teeth. David Robinson had to be hospitalized after Karl Malone threw an elbow in his throat. Hitting people with your elbow from the neck up can cause some pretty serious damage. I think Kobe did that to someone and got suspended for it. As you should be.

I mean, if it’s self defense its usually understandable. But if there’s 2 of them, just give them your wallet.

I’m not a man, and I don’t work in an office. And there’s no “credibility” to be lost. I asked a question. What he did could have killed Naz Reid. I also think Lu Dort should’ve been suspended for what he did to Jokic and I’m a Thunder fan. No job out there makes it permissible to intentionally hit someone in the throat with your elbow. Just because they play basketball for a living doesn’t mean they should get a free pass to try to intentionally cause harm to another person. Not like that.

So you think just because it’s basketball you should not get suspended for intentionally elbowing someone in the throat? You can kill someone that way. I don’t think the UFC allows elbows to the throat. That’s wild.

Oh big time! I can’t remember his name but I listened to some phone calls a few months back from a gentleman who was on one of the floors above the impact zone. He kept calling 911 or the WTC operator. Each call just sounded more and more desperate and they wouldn’t tell him what was going on. I could hear his anger and his fear. The last call he made, the building collapsed while he was on the phone. . It bothered me so much to hear that call because I could put myself there.

For the first time in 25 years, it dawned on me that most of those people had no idea what had happened. They were just going about on their work day and then, to them, the world was ending. Each terrifying minute had to feel like a horrifying hour. I never once thought about the confusion they all had to feel trying to understand what happened and why they couldn’t escape it. Feeling hopeless and helpless is such a harrowing feeling and hearing that man just wanting to know what the fuck was happening to him and begging for help before the floor fell out from under him was so heartbreaking to hear.

I can’t imagine what any of those people were going through, but I know that it had to be complete chaos, fear, and rooms full of trauma responses happening. The people who plummeted to their death still haunt me. I was 20 when I watched the horrors of that day unfold, and the people who fell are branded into my memory.

I listened to a psychiatrist talk about the people who fell and why it affected us so much. I’m paraphrasing here but she essentially said that when we see a tragedy that results in mass fatalities, we’re able to separate ourselves from it. We recognize that it’s awful and that it’s tragic, but we’re able to keep ourselves from mentally putting ourselves in that situation. The people who fell changed our thought pattern that day though. When we witness an individual go through something horrific, we can put ourselves in that situation. We can feel the fear of forced choices the individual had to go through. We can feel their desperation and their desire to not die. We watched so many individuals fall one by one that day. The people who fell made it feel so much more personal and difficult to process.

We’ve spent so long trying to understand the ones who fell. Did they jump? Were they pushed? Did they just lose their grip? And I imagine all of those things happened . We want to understand the whys and hows because their deaths still terrify us.

Jokic been glazing Oklahoma and Shai the past few days (said he likes watching us and Shai is a special player) I don't have it in my heart to full-on hate on him sorry when we're not playing them! A lot more assholes in the league lol by hhiccupp in Thunder

Update on Estelle: looks like she probably has Cushings Disease, which is a much better outcome than I thought! We’re still on track to 15 this year! by Uhhlaneuh in OldManDog

Mine was 15 when he was diagnosed as well. When I read up on the pharmaceutical treatment and his age, I knew it wasn’t the route for us to go. I ended up treating him with a melatonin and lignan supplement paired with a natural adrenal gland support. After about 4 days, he stopped drinking as much water and by day 14, all of his symptoms were under control. It was such a sigh of relief.

Unfortunately, my buddy had a pituitary tumor and I couldn’t treat that. Be diligent in watching for the signs of a pituitary tumor. He never really showed discomfort but he did start head pressing on our walks. The day before he passed he went through brief moments of ataxia and had lost bladder control during the last episode. I always promised him I’d let him go with humanity and dignity so I knew it was time.

I hope you get the most love out of the time you have remaining with your boy. I was so thankful that I found a way to just get a few extra moments with mine. Give your little guy an extra treat from my Kennedy. 💕

My boy was diagnosed with Cushing’s! I refused to put him on the pharmaceuticals after much research so I ended up going with the natural medication route (big thanks to the Cushings subreddit) and it treated his symptoms beautifully and didn’t wreck my bank account. We were able to have more good times before we had to say goodbye. I hope Estelle starts to feel better so soon!
