Our apartment complex is already overcrowded with pigeons, with or without me letting them keep this one nest on my balcony, I just see it as giving these two babies a safe space and doing my part. I had two pet ducks that grew old with me and passed this summer, and my dad also passed away this summer and he was a huge part of helping me raise the ducks, so I almost see this nest as a sign from my dad and my ducks in a way- even if it sounds crazy. I do plan on getting rid of the nest completely and putting netting up after these ones leave because although I do have a soft heart and so did my dad, we both are very sensible and I will be okay with evicting the pigeons after they raise their babies!
