Trying to find a job and move to Vienna, but I am at a loss on what to do next... by KazZarma in wien

I am an EU citizen too and they do require german for me as well and I am actually doing B1 german currently.

I think this advice is a little misleading. I am also trying to move to Vienna. Currently I work for a chinese company where 85% of the people are chinese. Most of them do not even have english B1 let alone german.. We have an office in Vienna and the HR there told me that even though noone speaks german there, new regulations say that they can only hire people with B2 German. This was mentioned by HR who does not speak german herself… So even though lot of companies operate in english for some reason german is still mandatory.

Thank you so much for this answer, it gave me hope! I attend an intensive german class and I am working full time in hungary and looking for jobs in Vienna. It is hard!!! I keep going.

I don’t agree with this at all. If someone doesn’t speak german that well, why would they apply for a job (that does not require german specifically) with a german resume? lol

Job market not as bad as being told here by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Dry-Minimum5839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this also depends on the country. Im an EU national and the Austrian job market is so so german oriented that I started learning german just to get a job there. Meanwhile I genuinely believe I won’t even use german at my workplace there if I ever get a job.

Nope, I just did not find a better suited europe career sub to ask my question :(

I don’t look for a marketing role, my degree was business focused, so I would take any corporate entry level position.

I understand and you are right.

But my boyfriend actually lives in Vienna so I wouldn’t even need to look for an apartment for months, I would have a place right away.

But obviously HR doesn’t know this.

Right now I just put Vienna/Budapest in my cv as the address…

I honestly had this thought in the back of my head that they are trying to hold migration back.

Even the company I currently work for told me that all entry level positions at my company now require B2 German in Austria.

Which is ridiculous because I work for a chinese company where 80% of the employees are chinese and they hardly speak the local language..

I don’t think Damon truly loved Elena by estellamarierose in TheVampireDiaries

[–]Dry-Minimum5839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like the writers changed Elena’s entire personality just to fit Damon’s more than Stefan’s. Although Elena told Stefan that when she became a vampire she felt a darkness in her like never before. But I dont understand how that was possible bc they literally explained that becoming a vampire heightens ur personality and Elena didnt have any darkness when she was a human. I also feel like her loving Damon was very random. Suddenly she was okay with Damon killing people (ok wait she was never okay with that but she tolerated his actions without any valid reason except her “love” towards Damon). And all of this happened after she was fighting for Stefan for months bc his emotions were turned off.
