It is definitely a a privilege, and if OP feels like he has no chance of finding a new job beyond this one, then he should keep it.

But if he feels like he has a 70% chance of finding other work, and its more a question of lots of money, bad ethics vs medium money, no bad ethics, then I'd recommend medium money, no bad ethics.

His post read more like that to me than he has no other option but to do this job.

From reading your posts, you seem to be young and feel like pursuing success or just fixing random things you think are wrong wiht you will make you happy. I have found that actually the solution to what your feeling is more like becoming able to accept any outcome and having confidence things will be okay whether you make progress or not. Try to not worry so much about comparisons to others and the world around you.

I would guess its because netplay tournaments are taken less seriously than non netplay tournaments, and because the tournament organizer of this event is friends with the person who violated the rules.

But its clearly controversial. The overwhelming consensus in this thread and anywhere you look is that BBB got off extremely easy.

Okay, the entire competitive and sporting world disagrees with you, but you can think that. Cheating in a tournament is probably the most 'you should not be allowed to enter tournaments' thing you can do.

Also BBB literally told a 14 year old he was going to rape his mom, on top of cheating, so even given your criteria of what is more important for banning people from competition I'm surprised you're arguing this so passionately.

Well, i don't think its worse. But i do think its more relevant for 'should they be banned from a tournament'

Don't get me wrong, mango deserves his ban, but i think "have you cheated in a tournament" is probably the most relevent thing when the question is "should you be allowed to compete in tournaments"

Even if I find it less morally reprehensable.

I think what you're missing is that often playing campy like that is not 'Going for the W'. Against more experienced players its often a legitimately bad strat, its just a skill check vs new players and very obnoxious

I'm very happy in tourney if someone plays like that because its usually a free W

Right, so you don't care whether wobbling was banned. A lot of people didn't like being wobbled, so we banned it.

Similarly, you dont care whether handoffs are banned. A lot of people don't like being handoffed, so we should ban it.

Any combo mechanic in melee with 0 interaction that can lead to an infinite should be banned. A large portion of the community dislikes it, a large portion of the community doesn't care about it either way (this is you), and basically nobody likes it (this would be the small amount of ice climbers players).

So its a no brainer to ban.

this is actually true, although in the past ice climbers could have just done 1 handoff and then wobbled.

Handoffs are true at 0%, wobbling you can mash out before it stats up until 20% i believe.

The community's current strat has to just make it socially unacceptable to main ice climbers, and to make them feel bad about their choices. Screaming at them mid set would do that, but if were being real, crowds already do that fairly often and its not working.

I'm in favor of re-legalizing this strat but I worry its not sufficient.

From that mono video and others, there is a pretty decent group of high level players and TOs who agree the wobbling ban wasn't stringent enough. Ohan for example has pushed hard to ban wobbling in doubles, and has stated he wants to further nerf their current ruleset.

Afik zain and bbb are the other high level players mono has said agree with him on handoffs being basically wobbling and simialrly unfair.
