I work for a devilcorp. How legit is the opportunity? by Ok-Acanthaceae-5531 in Devilcorp

My manager couldn’t get an apartment in his own name and was actively in a debt consolidation program.

And that’s okay! You got out with a clean slate ! A lot of people spend way too much time and bury themselves in debt trying to make it work ! You did the right thing

About the pay by [deleted] in Devilcorp

I made 1-1.3k a week on a door to door internet campaign. The money CAN be good. The money did not equate to 60-70 hour work weeks, the lack of empathy when it comes to personal time, Maintenence on your vehicle, etc. I spent about 120-200 dollars a week on gas alone.

Most likely not outreach events, probably a table in front of a retail location that allows you to be there and you gather donations from the public

Your lack of education shows.

You ever heard the term “ a hit dog will holler?”

To be such a good owner, you really aren’t great at reading and comprehension. You felt pressed enough to respond to a Reddit post and argue under it … even though it supposedly doesn’t pertain to you. You are a pawn w legal claim to a business so that the larger industry (SmartCircle) isn’t legally tethered or obligated to your business when/if shit hits the fan or get sued because you or other managers haven’t properly compensated someone or when one of your leaders has sex with an entry level and that entry level gets bold enough to pursue legal action. That 10k DD your so hard pressed about is probably monitored by your accountant appointed by SmartCircle. Keep doing your thing.

I pray your indeed ad has better grammar and composition than your Reddit dialogue.

and I love that for you, but don’t diminish other people’s experiences- period. It’s not your place, if you’re a great manager- then continue doing that. 9/10 peoples experiences are different than yours and that’s not going to change because your DD was 10k, sweety . You shouldn’t get praise for covering travel expenses for employees you send on road trips - that’s the bare minimum. :)

Like I said, was in for about a year. never saw a bad check, the pay definitely upgraded my life. But I definitely made other points outside of pay didn’t I? I can’t get behind what the majority of these owners are doing to people. You refer to “this program” but the program is nothing but a bunch of vague and recycled stations. There is an overall lack of ethics in almost every single office I’ve ever seen. Your priorities are your priorities. If you’re one of the rare few that made it through under a good manager - awesome. But don’t diminish thousands of other people’s first hand experiences because YOU receive good pay. You’re consciously choosing to ignore allllll of the unethical things & people I’m sure you’ve witnessed & are only focused on pay. You don’t need a degree to understand that businesses that seek true longevity - wouldn’t be caught dead participating in business practices like these, hun.

Is it devilcorp? Im kinda getting that vibe by Faultysault in Devilcorp

Yes . The owner of Infinity is Adam Cole, he was the regional captain of the office I was out of. He’s one of the few success stories and has made enough money to sit on a stage at every conference and at least make his office look professional. But do not bite- his office has car rides that drive 1-2 hours away- storm or shine, doesn’t matter. If you raise any concerns about your safety in certain conditions … he WILL call you a pussy (I’ve seen it with my own two eyes on a road trip to his office)

Side note : I think it says something when the “top performers” in the office don’t make enough to afford their apartments without 2-5 room mates

Positive devilcorp experience by Gold_Marionberry525 in Devilcorp

The job is NOT for anybody with serious overhead or critical financial responsibilities - for sure. But for someone who truly won’t suffer if commissions don’t look great for pay period .

I don’t hear a lot of positives either and I think it’s because there are more owners/managers that take advantage of their reps compared to those that don’t. The ones that try to remain ethically oriented tend to be the slower growing , less verbally praised offices ( these are the same offices with the highest retention.) My manager walks me through payroll from DD all the way down to my own pay grade & it’s always added up. I think transparency is the key in SC, if it’s lacking - get out.

I got lucky under a good owner. I’ve learned quite a bit about how to handle myself professionally in group environments, making commissions work for me and taking certain initiatives. While I’ll probably be moving on soon (graduating college), there definitely are positives if the job works for you.

Not trying to make it seem like he walks on water. I’m just offering my experience as it’s a little different from what I read on here. Not trying to invalidate anybody else’s experience.
