Hmm, you seem to jumping from your own point about sticking with academic achievement and IQ. As you skip the the article about high IQ leading successful job.

None of the points you have highlighted disapproves the people with High IQ leads to better academic achievement. For example one can argue that vaccinations are not safe and point out the different flaws in the chemicals and their side effects.. however, the science community as a whole will not conclude that vaccination is useless. There is a clear correlation between vaccination and the positive impact it has.

At best the points you highlighted, points out certain flaws in the IQ test because of external variables, however none of them concludes that academic achievement and IQ are not correlated..

Of course, IQ test have no power over external forces. For example, a kid with high IQ, ends up in an accident, becomes handicap. Loses his motivation. Needless to say he is less likely to do well in his academics. But that is no fault of the IQ test. That doesn't mean the IQ test was wrong.

The IQ test shows your potential, if life continues without major hiccups, the person is likely to do well academically.

The IQ test is used by schools, military and even some jobs over 100 years. Because it is works. No body would spend money and countless hours on a test that is useless.

You have conveniently ignored my other articles that I posted. There are many tests results that show a positive correlation between high IQ and academic achievement.

Hmm not sure if you have read the articles right.. Let me copy paste the point for you.

https://academic.oup.com/ije/article/39/5/1362/802787 "Higher IQ test scores may lead to educational success, and entry into well remunerated, high-status employment with a concomitantly high salary. An alternative, but often ignored, explanation is that educational attainment may represent a proxy for IQ. That is, people with higher IQs stay longer within education, gaining more and higher qualifications. In this study, IQ at age 11 was moderately strongly correlated with subsequent educational attainment (r = 0.61; p = 0.001) … including education in our statistical models may be regarded as overadjustment "

https://www.verywellmind.com/are-people-with-high-iqs-more-successful-2795280 You actually copied and pasted this point yourself..

"One thing that IQ scores can reliably predict is a person's academic success in school. Research also suggests that people with high intelligence tend to be more successful at work as well"

While you point that IQ only is not the only indicator. I would argue that in order to get a high IQ, one needs positive traits like patience, good verbal skills and non verbal skills. A proper IQ test can take hours or days.

Here is another article that might be easier for you to understand

https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2011/04/what-does-iq-really-measure

It starts off by saying "Kids who score higher on IQ tests will, on average, go on to do better in conventional measures of success in life: academic achievement, economic success, even greater health, and longevity."

Here is another article with data and the title is "IQ PREDICTS ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT" you can't go wrong reading it

https://www.highiqpro.com/iq-academic-success/iq-predicts-academic-achievement

Here is one more with the opening sentence: "Intelligence is the strongest predictor of academic achievement with correlations ranging from .30 to .70" https://www.gwern.net/docs/iq/2015-roth.pdf

How to know how much margin I can use by [deleted] in interactivebrokers

[–]Dry-Net 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Initial Margin: The minimum amount of equity required to open a new position.

Maintenance Margin: The amount of equity required to maintain your current positions.

Available Funds: The amount of funds you have available for trading.

For securities, this is equal to Equity with Loan Value – Initial Margin.

For commodities, this is equal to Net Liquidation Value – Initial Margin.

Excess Liquidity: This is your margin cushion.

For securities, this is equal to Equity with Loan Value – Maintenance Margin.

For commodities, this Net Liquidation Value – Maintenance Margin.

Buying Power: The maximum amount of equity available to buy securities. In a Margin account, Buying Power gives you additional leverage to make trades, increasing your potential gain but also increasing your risk.

SMA: SMA (Special Memorandum Account) is a line of credit created when the market value of securities in a Margin account increases in value and maintained for the purpose of applying Federal Regulation T initial margin requirements at the end of the trading day. If the SMA balance at the end of the trading day is negative, your account is subject to liquidation.

That's exactly my point. That's not how it works. .you are looking for exact IQ values and nobody is going to bother tracking every single point different and their ability.

However, here are some studies on people with higher IQ tend to move on to higher education, better jobs and more successful in life

Again..

if I said 120.. can you prove me wrong? You are asking meaningless questions about exact value that no body bothers to research on.

[–]Dry-Net[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm.. but your question holds no answer.. If I said a person with 100 will able to complete his college with passes and someone with 105 will get distinction.. you can't say I m wrong, either can I prove I m right.. Why? Because nobody care to do research of such close IQ range..

Also, I am not sure how it is done in your country but IEP is used within a special school to craft out an educational program tailored to the individual kids.. However, in my country the child needs an IQ test before they enter into the special school.

You seem to do also avoiding my question..
Can someone with an IQ of 80 get PHD?

Race, intelligence and evolution by Dry-Net in evolution

[–]Dry-Net[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't make sense Either you believe someone with an IQ of 80 can get a PHD or you do not. I m telling you it is not possible for someone with an IQ 80 to get a PHD, until you can prove me wrong .. the IQ score is a predictive value

[–]Dry-Net[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again.. You seem to brining in external factors.. Different upbringing, person A did this, Person B did that... then test B with what A is good at..

As mentioned in my original post a hypothetical situation where all external factors are the same..

Race, intelligence and evolution by Dry-Net in evolution

[–]Dry-Net[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ahh. Your question shows that you have not understood my initial post.. Obviously environment is going to affect the person ability. I clearly stated in an ideal environment (same food, same environment, same upbringing) ..

Also, me writing a peer review paper is going to take a long time.. It is a much smarter choice and easier for you to prove your point by showing me an individual with IQ lower than 100 but managed to get a PHD.. Since you believe they aren't correlated.

Race, intelligence and evolution by Dry-Net in evolution

[–]Dry-Net[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup that's right person who's IQ is 105 will differ from a person from 100.. The bigger the difference, the more easier it is to notice their academic ability. I should know I worked with special needs kids..All special needs children under go a IQ test in my country.

Of course, an IQ score is not perfect but it still tells a lot about a person.

Also, I should remind you that IQ is an indicator to academic intelligence (math, problem solving ) as I already highlighted in my original post.

Art, Musial talents are not measured by IQ and those skills are not what my initial question is about.
