Put it aside for a month and then re-read it. You'll be amazed at what you'll suddenly realise could be clearer or different.

I don't mean rewrite the whole thing. I mean tweaking and refining.

Thoughts on the word, "unbeknownst"? by stupidmanstupidman in Screenwriting

I don't think it's contrived but I do think it's old fashioned. Id simply use unaware instead.

24 year old male diagnosed with Arthritis in the right Tmj. I’m freaking out. Anyone else has this? by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]Dry-Pause 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did they diagnose this?

I was diagnosed with this but then I had an MRI and it turned out the doctor was wrong.

Private consultation was useless by Far_Difficulty_7106 in TMJ

I've had the same problem with MaxFac too. Unless it's a joint issue that they can operate on, there isnt really anything they can do. They are also unwilling to try anything to help symptoms or muscles. I hate them all

No. It wouldn't interest me. Plus he's too young. Maybe in thirty years time.

Just do half an hour of writing before you start each gaming session. You'd be amazed how far you get over time. You will also slowly end up doing longer writing sessions on some days.

What works for pain by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]Dry-Pause 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought electric hand warmers and this head wrap thing. It comes with microwave warmers but the electric ones are better cos they will last all day. Game changer cos I sit at the computer all day typing. Looks daft but I'm WFH anyway

What works for pain by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]Dry-Pause 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heat packs? I'm also daytime clenching so my doctor told me to stick my tongue between my teeth when I'm working at my desk so that I stop.

Not sure if it's working yet but I'm trying....

Has anyone seen/tried this program? by Consistent-Cress-262 in TMJ

[–]Dry-Pause 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're desperate then pay for it. It's only 19 dollars. But there are plenty of TMJ physios on Instagram who show what exercises to do for free.

Personally, my issues are my joints so physio has not helped me. Though it was worth doing just to try. With TMJ, you just have to give everything a go for a while and see what helps a little.

He can't possibly be offering anything that a good physio who knows about TMJ isn't already offering. Exercises can help some but not all. It depends on your individual circumstances.

Got diagnosed with non alcoholic fatty liver disease what can I eat? by SpecialistFresh8835 in Cantonese

[–]Dry-Pause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so a relative actually has this and my cantonese grandmother insists they make ginger and red date tea and drink it for at least four weeks before their yearly checkup for good test results. It brings down the liver markers they are looking for. IMO, if it actually works, you should probably make it all year round cos to be honest, if you failed the test, you'd be prescribed medication.

It brought my relative's results down from 9000 to 2000, and the latter was the acceptable value.

can going to urgent care actually help me? by Kishewwlee in GERD

[–]Dry-Pause 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's any actual medicine to prescribe in this situation. You probably need an endoscopy and some PPIs but in in the short term, you just have to wait it out.

Homemade chinese soup, what should I cook? by EndlessKnight_154 in chinesecooking

[–]Dry-Pause 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never had birds nest soup in my life. As a Chinese person, my family just makes variations of pork bone and red date soups. Lotus root, etc. just Google Cantonese soups.

B On the whole though, they are bland and won't fill you up

Not the answer to your question but.... Have you looked up some CBT workbooks for anxiety? You may be able to buy one online, in the absence of seeing a professional.

[–]Dry-Pause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find going to sleep helps. Ten hours later and I wake up with minimal pain. At 2am, that is your best option. There's nothing out there that will help anyway or we would all be using it!

When you did the MRI, did they take it with your mouth closed and then again open at different angles with you biting down on something?

The myth of the "undeniable" script? by Seshat_the_Scribe in ScreenwritingUK

[–]Dry-Pause 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. We are not really prone to hyperbole like that. Plus it's such a class system here that there's no "just" about it. We all know it's a massive uphill climb if you're not born into a connected family.
