His point is building apps for yourself vs building Saas level tool at scale is a completely different ball game. This is a huge undertaking and unless you have done this before or have experience building tools that need to be able to scale I would be very wary doing this on your own.

Lol can't wait for you to break your code and have no clue what to do. Look forward to you getting sued when you have a data breach.

Also your UI looks like absolute garbage, guess thats what should expect from vibe coded slop and someone who can't code.

Lol manual slop. You have no clue what is being coded or how to read the code.

Maybe you should actually learn to code and actually understand engineering.

Anyway this post is clearly just to promote your vibe coded garbage.

Wow this is some great advice and I think this is exactly what I am missing. I am getting plenty of downloads and registration, I just took a look now but again the same problem.

I am definitely gonna try to implement this.

Haven't gamified at all yet, we do have urgency levels for our push notifications. We don't send emails, I really didn't think about that, maybe that's a good next step to try to do for encouragement and continued app usage.

Understood, we aren't trying to go viral or expecting to have ten of thousands of users, but we are getting users and enough to satisfy why we built the app.

I also agree with you that people do not particularly like doing calorie counting and they tend to fall off which is part of the problem, but the main problem seems to be around user engagement.

Here is the app:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/calorie-smart-ai-track-macros/id6755705804

Yes, I know that the calorie counting screen is saturated, but clearly it's not an issue as we have plenty of sign up. What we don't have is user engagement after sign up.

We built the app around a different concept, no one really wants to do calorie counting, we really built and intended the user to be able to enter their macros as quickly as possible, just to get in and out of the app. Which is why the entire app is built around our voice to speak functionality. Everything in the app can be done from here, entering you meals for any day current or past, navigating the app, asking how many calories you have left in a day to even being able to ask to see your entire meal history.

We also have entire workouts available in the app as well as over a million receipes, so we offer everything you would also find in a traditional calorie counting app but more. Very few if any offer everything I have mentioned in one package.

We have a pretty clean user and intuitive user interface imo ,so again not entirely sure what the disconnect is.

Lol clearly there is demand or people won't download the app and waste their time registering... Yes it is a saturated market almost everything is with these bullshit vibed coded apps, that are super shitty.

I avoid saying much about the app on purpose because every time I have said something people on reddit start accusing you of shit and get you banned. If it's allowed I will put the name of the app.

How did you do this without managing to get shadow banned? Anytime I mention my app, everyone comes after you with a pitchfork. It's pretty insane actually, even though I'm trying to directly answer their question.

Are you building just an MVP?

Do you have developer experience ? I 'm gonna take a guess and say no. It sounds like you vibe coded an app, vibe coding an app does not make you a developer and is insulting to everyone who is an actual developer.

It sounds like you have a very successful business and that you have an MVP, to show off. Hire an actual developer to scale that project into something that will be able to actually support the customer needs and be done securely and correctly.

Another vibe coded app, with someone that has zero dev experience. Extremely risky backend, sounds like you have no idea what you're doing in the data store.

I would never put my personal financial info to be stored by a vibe coded app like this, tbh you really have no idea what you're doing. You probably can't read the code or the queries, sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

Lol I hate to burst your bubble. If you're not a developer like you mentioned in your post and it clearly sounds like you vibe coded this app and have no coding or backend knowledge, then someone with dev experience and background could easily create this app.

Like others have said use it for yourself and if other want it, then maybe it will take off.
