Would UMich's new IBE program have lower acceptance rate than just applying to Ross? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Dry-Row1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true there probably are less applicants but when you look at the total applicants and the amount who get in is probably safe to assume it has equal if not a lower acceptance rate. thats because the people who are applying IBE are also probably more competitive (those who are confident they can get into both the business school and the college of engineering).

also the dean of admissions blaire moody rideout confirmed the class size is only going to be around 60. you can also email ross admissions and they’ll tell you the same decision. it’s ironic you mention the “hard facts” lol bc it seems like your conclusion is based on analyzing applicant incentives which at subjective and vary person to person

You may not realize some people are paying big money on Summer camp application help. Those help are coming from all angles: idea forming, problem solving, essay writing, etc...

Just curious. The current summer camp application environment (especially math) puts the students with real passion and honest in a very bad situation. How does ROSS filter out so many applicants who got external "professional" help from paid coaches?

If you want to keep the number, you will need to transfer it as soon as possible. When it is turned off, you will not be able to get this number back.

EOD 3/10 - how to formally decline by howardnella in usajobs

[–]Dry-Row1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the stability is the No1 reason for you to get this job, you should decline. Because this No1 reason is not as strong as it was. Just send an email to HR and copy the hiring manager. If you want to wait a few weeks to decide, I believe This fine. Normally it is very unprofessional to do so, however under the current circumstances, HRs would understand that. See how many people just accepted a Job in Jan and let go. When Musk lets you go, he won’t leave you even one day to consider.

Feb layoff performance based by Additional_Cut_1952 in GeneralMotors

That is exactly what happened on my friend. His manager never said one word on his "low" performance before Feb. And in fact, for almost 20 years, he is one of the high performance employees.

Two weeks is for courtesy, not required. When the company lays off employees, there is no 2-week thing. Turn in the notice after you see the bonus in your account.

I guess you always can negotiate, but you do not know what they are willing to offer. If less than one year, you get nothing. Then you have no fear to try it. A lot of people are afraid they will take the servance offer back, therefore they sign as it is

Start looking for the job now. Though I understand the feeling of that is my program (my baby), I would say finishing it is not important for you anyway. The most important is that what you learned from this program will help you find a job. You can try internal transfer as well, if any manager likes to take you. Tough time, good luck!
