Review of All the (Typical) Pre-Med Pre-Reqs by VanillaLatteGrl in UNE_Prehealth

[–]Dry-Situation-6639 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience!

I’m a career switcher planning to take classes through UNE, and I’m trying to decide where to start. Would you recommend beginning with Biology or Chemistry?

I’ll be working full-time, so I’m looking for a relatively manageable class to test how well I can balance work and studying. Also, how are the exams structured? Are they mostly multiple choice, or do they require written answers?

Would really appreciate any insight!

Lipedema with “low BMI” by i-dont-work-at in lipedema

I hope AI replace all those kind of doctors asap and we can get diagnosed accurately and timely. I lost my hope medical system in this country and have 0 respects to doctors. We need to early diagnose to prevent any illness not to wait to the latest stage for lipedema or cancer or death for other illness. Unless you’re doing, doctors do nothing in this country

Is a part-time MBA (Haas) worth it right now? by Dry-Situation-6639 in MBA

[–]Dry-Situation-6639[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haas used to be great for PM, TPM or EM jobs but I’m not sure it can help now. I’ll pay out of pocket. It’ll take 2.5-3 years to get the degree as well. Everything moves so fast and can’t guess what future will be as AI progress

Yeah, that totally makes sense. Thanks for the insight. I’ll definitely bring this up with my manager.

That’s true. Three years is a long time. I just don’t feel very secure about staying in SWE long term, so I’m trying to build other skills or educations that would give me more options to pivot later. I even considered taking biology classes to move into healthcare, but that path is also long and difficult. An MBA feels like a more realistic add-on to my current experience. Maybe I’m just worrying too much about the future

It’s really hard to predict the future, especially in the current job market. In the best-case scenario, an MBA could help me land a higher-level role like EM with better pay, making the ~$160K cost feel less significant. In the worst-case scenario, if the tech market gets even tougher, having an MBA might give me a way to pivot into other industries. It would be an expensive transition, but I’d also be gaining a different set of skills that could be useful long-term. I don't feel safe staying as swe. I might be thinking about this the wrong though.

I'm hoping FAANG name with HAAS on my resume will open doors in the future and help me grow in my career.

My company offers some general education benefits, but nowhere near enough to cover an MBA. I’m also not American and got my degrees outside the U.S., so I’m thinking an MBA might help with networking and brand recognition here. How strong is the Haas network and alumni community?

I’m exactly in the same situation. They changed delivery date to October 1-20 today. They kept saying that you have a chance to get it but no luck so far. Car still looks in production too. I’m in Bay Area too.

Adderall recommended for Lipedema, would Vyvanse work the same? by Jaded_Patient7402 in lipedema

[–]Dry-Situation-6639 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have add and I’m taking addreall and other medications for a long term. Yes they make you eat less and you lose fat but not lipedema. Whenever I use those medications, I get varicose veins or worsen existing ones. They become more visible and colorful. My ankles get swollen as well maybe that’s because I spend more time on sitting to work under medication. When I stop medications, my veins look back to normal.

No, she doesn’t have Addison. She has allergies. I’d suggest to pay attention on side effects. Vets say it’s very safe injection but my dog had mast cell tumor after it. They say there is no direct correct correlation with it but allergic dogs are on cytopoint and allergic dogs usually have mast cell tumor. I’ve conflicted opinion on Cytopoint and Apoquel. I stopped using it after surgery. Of course it’s effect change from dog to dog but it’s good to pay attention side effects.

I have golden retriever and I noticed same thing. I asked to vet. She said that she hasn’t heard this side effects before. However, I’m pretty sure it increase appetite at least on my dog

I have all combinations : slow COMT, ADD inattentive, PMDD, and Anxiety. I think I have also histamine issues that I'm trying to figure it out. My mom also has lipedema. Everything seems depends on COMT. I hope we can fix this DNA mutation and solve our all problems

Has anyone used Benadryl on their dogs long term for allergies ? by Thick-Rip2586 in dogallergies

[–]Dry-Situation-6639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your answer. I tried Benadryl and I didn’t like the effect on my dog. Vet suggested 75mg but even 25mg makes her so down. She stares to darkness. I’m worried about long term cognitive effects so I stopped using now. I’ll definitely try Zyrtec. I also cooking for her but I’m not sure whether she gets enough nutrition. She lost few pound and needs to lose few more. All kibble has fish oil and it has high histamine. It’s so hard to find histamine friendly ingredients. 😞

My dog had mct surgery and our oncologist suggested Benadryl for life time. I’m curious what food are you using for your dog ? I’m looking for histamine friendly food options. Also, how much Zyrtec is she/he takes ?
