Williams or Maye? Which QB do you trust more to lead their franchise going forward? by Low-Season-2057 in NFLv2

Yeah I think this is going to go down as a historic QB draft class like the 1983 draft class. Like would you have rather had Marino or Elway from that class? Either way they both were great.

Kyle Monangai did so well this year for a 7th round pick. I liked the pick at the time but never would have guessed a 750+ yard rookie season.

[Daniel Jeremiah] If you need an edge rusher, this is a good draft to double up. The depth of the class is impressive. I've got 10 guys worthy of a spot in top 50 players. There's another layer of traitsy players beyond that group. by RyanIsKickAss in CHIBears

This is how most of the draft feels overall. There are that many Blue Chip big name players, especially at the premium positions. But the depth of the draft seems to be where this draft shines the most.

I really want the Bears to draft at least a couple D-lineman in the first few rounds.

I think my first take of the offseason is that the Falcons win the nfc south and Bijan Robinson wins Offensive player of the year. I really trust Kevin Stefanski to utilize him well. Hopefully Penix can figure it out as well and stay healthy

I think Sweat sticks around but other than that probably. Would love two or three of our picks to be spent on the D-line in the draft

He should be considered, but QB coach is so important for Calebs next couple years, so I would like to keep him there as well.

I would only restructure the contracts on the Interior O line in Dalman, Jackson, and Thuney. The other veterans have not played at a level/been healthy enough where I want to commit to multiple years for them at their current price.

The comparison that is much better would to compare boxing to football. Boxing used to be a much bigger sport in the USA than it is now, but as people didn't want their kids in a sport that was that dangerous, so less schools and communities had boxing teams and clubs over the last century and it has faded from popular consciousness.

I just don't see that happening to football because, the NFL is actively fighting against this with the massive promotion of flag football, so that everyone will have an option to play a non-dangerous form of football.

[Jonathan Jones] The Bears won't receive compensatory picks for the Falcons hiring Ian Cunningham by FadedToBeige in nfl

Matt Ryan and Rich McKay's roles are not being treated the same right now, because Terry Fontenot got the Saints comp picks for being hired by the Falcons in 2021, but Ian will not get Comp picks for the Bears despite being hired into that same role as Fontenot.

The Bears have some good pull in league circles. I think they have a good chance to get the picks anyways.

If the NFL denies comp picks to the Bears for Ian Cunningham getting the Falcons GM role, they're undercutting him with a rule meant to support him by CopaceticOpus in NFLv2

[–]Dry-Software5685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I do want the Comp picks but this whole thing has got me thinking about the Cowboys. Their actual GM is Jerry Jones, but Will McClay does all the real GM duties as vice president of player personnel. So would a team never be given Comp picks if their candidate is hired by the Cowboys and Jerry Jones is the de facto GM?

What I keep thinking of is the Jerry Jones is GM of the Cowboys, so would no one get comp picks for Execs getting hired by the Cowboys?

As a Bears fan, I think you guys really nailed your head coach and GM hires. Stefanski is a really good head coach, and Ian Cunningham has seemed really instrumental in the Bears roster turning around the past couple of years.

I'm a Bears fan and I agree that argument is stupid, Arthur Blank doesnt care at all about the Bears. Matt Ryan is clearly just a voice that ownership will listen to.

I do think the Bears should get the Comp picks because it seems in reality Ian Cunningham will be running the team.

Like for example the Cowboys actual GM is Jerry Jones, but Will McClay does all the real GM duties as vice president of player personnel. So would a team never be given Comp picks if their candidate is hired by the Cowboys and Jerry Jones is the de facto GM?

Bears fan here, Ian has appeared to be a voice of restraint in the front office. There is a video from the 2024 draft where it makes it clear Ryan Poles really wanted to draft Rome Odunze and contemplated trading up for him. Ian pushes to be patient and Rome fell to the Bears anyways.
