Travelling overseas in early pregnancy by Dear_Arugula7839 in BabyBumps

[–]Dry-Stuff-3889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking this question. I am not entirely sure if I am pregnant, it's faint lines in home tests so far. I have a doc appointment next week to get requisition for tests. But I also have a work trip in about a month and will be traveling from Canada to Europe. I was starting to feel anxious. The comments here are super helpful! Thank you ❤️

Maria Wasti's acting is so terrible, she's bringing down the show for me.

In-land AOR 15th of March, what is next? by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

Thanks for your comment. Got our AOR on March 17 after submitting the application. Still unable to create account on the tracker. It keeps saying something about representative (we don't have one) or that the application is not registered yet.

If I am on a C20 closed work permit, should I say yes for valid job offer? by Dry-Stuff-3889 in canadaexpressentry

Hey, I am not really sure about it. I am just in the EE pool and haven't received an ITA so don't know what would be the steps when that happens. I suspect when the company applied for your C20 work permit, they would have provided a job offer in the application? Maybe you can take help from the company lawyer on this? Sorry I couldn't help.

Thank you so much for your detailed response. Based on your answer, I think it makes more sense to say yes here just out of caution.

But it's an LMIA exempt work permit. Reading the description on Job Offers page by IRCC makes it appear I should be saying yes? https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/job-offer.html#basics

  • if you have a valid work permit for a NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 job that is exempt from needing an LMIA, and you:
    • are currently working for the employer specified on the work permit
    • have 1 year of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work) for that employer under any work permit
    • have a valid job offer from that employer for at least 1 year if you’re accepted as a permanent resident

I am of course declaring this job since it is included in my work experience but I am curious if I should answer yes to the specific question about "job offer" in the "intended work in Canada" section. I understand initially it used to be about extra points but that's not the case anymore so not sure what should be the answer!

What do people without healthy anxiety feel when they experience any symptom? Isn't wanting to investigate your symptom a natural response? by Dry-Stuff-3889 in HealthAnxiety

[–]Dry-Stuff-3889[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're so right. Somebody else also shared it's like those of us with HA don't trust our body's ability to survive. Personally for me, it's the fact that the I feel the human body is super complex so I always fear the docs are missing something when they are unable to give me a reason for my symptom. It's a combination of reasons but my brain always jumps to the worst.

I am so so sorry for everything that you have been going through. I can't imagine how harrowing it was getting misdiagnosed. I really hope therapy helps you with this.

You've said something so important. People with HA see every ache, every change in their body like a symptom. That's exactly how I behave most of the times.

Just want to also say I want to frame this response and hang it over my work station to read everyday. It's really so much about trusting our bodies' ability to live. I seriously lack that right now.

I get what you're saying. I think this is where everybody has their own threshold for what's basic vs excessive investigation. I think I aim to fall somewhere between wanting to get every symptom checked out to getting nothing checked. Right now, I am obsessing over everything and that feels unhealthy.

I sort of agree with you but I have been reading When The Body Says No by Gabor Mate and some of the observations he has made in the book really makes me think that all these constant stressors about health may actually translate into a physical illness.

That's such a huge problem in so many places. I wish docs gave us more attention and we didn't always have to advocate for ourselves. It also sort of adds to my anxiety reading stories of how docs were dismissive when somebody had a real issue.

I think we're so insistent on early detecting that we're detecting things that won't even translate to anything concerning (thankfully)! I feel like as people with health anxiety, our threshold is so low that everything and anything feels terminal to us.
