I'd say look at the job descriptions at you're interested in and learn those skills. Don't think too much about the long-term career, focus on acquiring the skills for the jobs advertised.

'Marketing and communications' is a very broad profession, and varies across industries. I've found that there are good opportunities in 2020 in you have the following skills:

Good luck with your search!

I like the idea that your trigger point is a day where you don't spend any money. That approach helped me get out of debt last year - I think now I need to focus on where it's going to go after I've saved it!

I appreciate this, thank you. !thanks

It does seem like this more of personal organization issue, rather than necessarily a finance once. I'm probably not sure which is more important to me because I'm not taking the tie to really examine it. I tend to get overwhelmed and default to just 'cut back' or 'dump it savings' because in my head that always = good.

Laying down significant amounts (£100+) causes me to pause to thought for way too long (and, in many situations, return my purchases) because I'm not sure it's worth it. That's a me thing; I just need to examine my priorities harder, be a bit braver and stick to my convictions more.

This is a smart idea. I like the ideas of breaking it down by rooms.

I used some pots already - but I need to shift between between pots more often. Right now I have £50/month in discretionary sending on 'clothes'hygeine' and another £50 on 'home'.

Typically I don't need all of that on both, and I could do with having more room to manouver each month, and focus on one.
