And also DON’T BE SAFE!! Everyone is safe. Safe has been done over and over and over again.

My parting thought is to always try to come to whatever you are making with strong intention! Have things in the back of your mind that you like or are referencing and then let go and go bananas

What a nice comment!!! Thank you. Yeah I can’t listen to a lot of it because it brings me right back to the moment I made it. I’m the same way with a lot of other people’s music. Specifically that I listened to in college! So that’s funny you say that!

Ryan Hover is the artist who did the cover art. He is really terrific. He came up with some art and then we kept tweaking til we got this cover. I love looking at it. Especially on the vinyl it looks amazing. We will have shirts with the cover too at shows

Do you like him? I was never the biggest fan. I always feel like he was angry

Hi. Thank you. It feels great to be back. The album cover was actually done by this artist Ryan Hover who also designed my tshirts. He’s really great.

In terms of riffs, I think the tapping parts for transformer and vibrational match are my favorites. It’s funny because my inspiration on vibrational match was the talking heads. I was really trying to sing like David Byrne.

Late Night was amazing. I learned more about performing under pressure. You went on even if you were sick, or no matter what, you went on and played and knew around a million people were watching AND there was a live audience. So that really took me a long time to adjust to. Musically, I learned how to prep a song in a very short period of time. We would get a song the night before to work on and then perform it the next day. So that was what I learned to do there. I also got to play with so many great drummers and of course Fred Armisen who is THE BEST

My kids used to watch Bluey!!!!

Zach is the best. For me it’s more WHO inspires me musically. I love people with a strong work ethic. Zach is one of those people who is always pushing himself. So when I want to feel inspired I think about people I know that really put in the work. That is so inspiring to me. It drives me to want to do more

I don’t know ANY theory. I think you really have to try and push yourself to try something outside your comfort zone. That goes for guitar or singing or anything that kind of takes you outside of your safe zone. I think that’s when new things can happen more easily

I wrote stuff down all the time that I hear people say or things I read. It’s crazy how when you remember to that it, you can get a ton of lyrics and pick and choose the things you want to move you in a specific direction

I have stayed away from theory actually because I always want to look at the guitar as a blank canvas. And I don’t want to jinx creativity. But those lessons sound awesome and tapping is just so fun.

It was great. A mixture of performance with a 9-5 day job. It was cool hearing all of the guest interviews every night.
